Artist Beware: Pararipi/Prisma-Neko

Firstly I would like to say this is my first Beware post to Artist_Beware. I don’t use live journal so I apologize for any mistakes I might’ve made.

EXPLAIN: On September 2015 I noticed the work of Pararipi in Furaffinity. They had really cute designs for sale so I was interesting in purchasing some. I attempted to send them a note, but they claimed they could not open them. I sent them an email instead (2). They replied a few days later and I sent payment on the 12th (3). Notice the business name “Edible Kingdom”, its relevant later.

From then on I continued with my life, letting the artist work. However, around 20 days later after my first email I realized I had been given no updates, no WIPs and no ETAs. I know artists work at their unique pace but I was feeling like 2 weeks for some recolored bases was bordering on too long. Also they do not have any form of queue on their FA so I assumed they did not have any backlog either.

I then decided to shoot them a second email asking about any progress they had (4) and they did not reply. This unsettled me, so I began contacting other people who had also commissioned them. A user directed me to their deviantart, telling me it was easier to contact them there. I found this quite frustrating since I don’t have a DA account and was forced to make one just to contact this person, which I did (5). In the DA note they tell me to look at their to-do lists and that my customs should be finished in two to three days but that they would not refund me because of “scammers” (This was a huge red flag for me). I reply letting them know I have no problem waiting a few more days although I did not see myself in the to-do list (6). I was quite taken aback by the large list actually, and the fact none of this was told to me before I commissioned them.

At this point while I was waiting for my artwork I began growing suspicious of this artist, especially because of their paypal business name. I began doing some digging and uncovered that Edible Kingdom was managed by an artist called Prisma-Neko and her partner. By searching a bit more I discovered that Prisma-Neko had quite the backlog and had disappeared from art sites, leaving many people in the dark.

Eventually Parapiri confessed to being Prisma-Neko: http://i.imgur.com/JocKtod.png (Full journal http://i.imgur.com/RrO0Faw.png). I want to point that up to this moment there was absolutely no information from Pararipi remotely connecting them to their previous alias since they were using a fake name, location and life story. They seem to account jump a lot.
They seem to now be pumping out art like crazy trying to catch up with their owed work, even making a second to-do list (7). I can’t help but notice I’m not on that list either.

As of October 5th I have yet to receive any work, despite being told it would be done. I will give the artist one week to either produce the art or refund me before starting a paypal dispute. This whole ordeal has left me incredibly disappointed since I was looking forward to the art and instead was strung along with no updates and no honesty. This is also the first time I've ever had any trouble while commissioning anyone and came as quite the shock.

As of October 11th I have started a paypal dispute after asking for a refund and being told I would get it in a few days, again to not receive any more contact from them. (8) I will escalate it into a claim if this continues.

TL;DR version:
I ordered two custom adoptables from Pararipi in early September. About a month passed with no communication from the artist. Was forced to make an account on a website I don’t use just to communicate with them. Was not on their to-do list. Looking closer it was revealed the artist is Prisma-neko, a person with a long history of owed work who was trying to hide from previous disgruntled cutomers.
Artist's beware has moved!
Do NOT repost your old bewares. They are being archived.

Oh man, I was wondering if she would end up here after that big journal blowup. Your situation sounds pretty similar to mine unfortunately.

I commissioned them for a custom adoptable over on FA as well and after hearing nothing for a month or two, I asked them for an update. They said it was done and would be uploaded 'tomorrow.' Well, never happened, and they went silent on FA. Had to track them down to dA, where they told me the design was done but they hated it and wouldn't show it to me and would much rather just refund me. They then stated in that journal that they 'couldn't' offer refunds, so I opened a paypal claim to get my money back. I wasn't willing to risk it since according to several people they're known to offer refunds then never give them.

Never did figure out why they refused to show me a design that was supposedly finished and let me judge for myself...

Oh lawdy.

I thought "I do not refund due to some scams that were done to me in past days" was bad, but then the brain-melting reverse-guilt journal.

"I came back with this account because I needed the money" Enough said, really. I don't think she cares, she's returned and done exactly the same thing that got her into strife last time. She wants free money. Honestly disappointing that she can't even get customs of bases out within a week or two.

And I'm sorry, there's account hopping and then there's inventing an entirely fake life to intentionally misdirect customers. She knew exactly what she was doing. Not buying the sob journal for a second.

I wasnt even aware she was back/account-hoping -- I got my commission around the time things started to spiral down so I did manage to get mine in time, but her journals kept getting worse and worse and whatnot...

sorry you got caught in this...

I'm experiencing the same thing, this artist have made me wait more than one year, & she has been doing this bad habit for years with other people too & runninmg away from people who she owns while making other new accounts later, also did not know they have three previous FA accounts, but i knew for sure all their dA accounts & their tumblr as well.

she owned me at least 10 pictures for a one month art slave & so far she did 3, did two in her new account, last time she did was my bust which probably from a month ago or so, after that she doesn't seems so active & seems to be about to disappear again, i'm seriously disappointed on this artist, and have completelly lost my trust to them, i doubt they will ever do the 7 rest of the pictures, i would rather get a refund than a completing art after waiting on it for ridiculously so long

That is really disapointing, it looked like she was going to start taking responsability for what she owes but she gave up half way.
If it looks like she is going to run I really hope anyone catches on her new identity, whatever it might be and lets us know.
So sorry you never got the work you paid for.

Re: DrawinglyWillingly might be prisma's new account
Screening until research by our own team confirms.

Please do not reply to this thread with evidence anymore until otherwise given the ok.

Instead send it to a mod (we share information so something sent to one is shared with all.)

Re: DrawinglyWillingly might be prisma's new account

I'm unscreening this for a hot minute to respond to you. Artists_Beware doesn't accept "it might be" or "they're most likely".

We need one of the following:
- The same email address used between accounts.
- The same irl FULL name. If they're both named Bob or Jane that just won't cut it.
- Art made for them or art they've made used between the same accounts.
- Third party accounts that personally know them introducing them. Such as the husband saying previously that Prisma is his wife, and then later saying the new account is his wife's account.

While we agree that the evidence points very strongly to these people being the same, we simply will not alter someone's tags due to "maybes".
