Hello all,

Been a while since I've posted here and I don't know if this warrants a full beware because I have never experienced this situation, but here we go.

This morning I woke up to Paypal transfers being cancelled and funds being on temporary hold because of "potentially unauthorised funds" from a client.

I find this odd that this happens three days after I sent the final image to them and I have had these funds for almost a month.

Is this the warning someone gets on a chargeback?

Hmm. Have you contacted the commissioner about this?

I have. They stated they haven't touched their paypal for a week and that three other artists have contacted them about the same issue.

I have spoken to another artist that worked with this individual that had the same thing happen to them.

Oh geez I think I know the client you are talking about, this happened to my friend to. So I wonder if there are more than three artist since they told my friend the same thing.

They told him the same thing about not touching paypal, and have promised they were contacting paypal and their bank and the funds will be returned. He might comment but I know he's almost done with one of the pictures too.

Yup to Nauro! I woke up in a panic for the exact same reason. I messaged them and they told me the that story verbatim, that I'm the third artist to contact them about the issue, haven't touched their account in a week, et cetera. When Nauro came across this and linked me my jaw dropped, because well, what're the chances?

I am also involved with this situation. They had told me that they would call the bank and paypal tomorrow morning, as it was 0:31 in their timezone at the time. waiting for a response. I hope that this all works out.

my case has been resolved and the money on hold has been returned to my account.

I've had this issue already with someone who commissioned me

In my case, the commissioner told his bank account he got his credit card stolen, and the bank refunded him what he payed
(which wasn't true of course)

Considering so many are reporting they EXACT same issue.. There's a chance the guy is going around getting art and not paying (various stages of fraud)

I'd like to know who this is so I can avoid them / blacklist them.

Just got an email too that directed me to the resolution center. A hold has been placed again and this is what the status details said: "The buyer has filed a claim stating this transaction was made without the account holder’s knowledge or consent. Please click Resolve Claim Now to view your options to resolve this issue and how to provide relevant information that will help in PayPal’s investigation. We must receive your response by 7 calendar days from case creation in order to include your input in our investigation."

I haven't gotten any more word from the client except the reply to my original questioning about the first issue. What do I do? I haven't been on the art exchange scene for long at all, so this is the first time I've dealt with something like all of this.

I woke up to a reversal claim again. I believe I am going to make a beware since it has happened twice. I am not pleased about this in the least.

I'd say while you're doing that, also call Paypal and show them how they acknowledged the payment already before and that it was given back to you before.

I advise all of you to do so. There's no need for Paypal to see what you made, just proof that they acknowledged the claim and dropped the original dispute.
