This all started when I commissioned Greycat Rademenes to draw me a commission for my birthday, which was on September 7. He's been doing these $10 sketch commissions for quite some time now, and I've commissioned him for some and received a few from him. He said that it would cost me $25 dollars for it since it was my birthday and all. So I paid him, and he said that he'd have it done by my birthday.

A few days later, I decided to check up on him. I asked him if he started on it yet, and he told me that he wanted to finish the things that he had lined up before he starts on mine, and I said OK. So I waited until my birthday to see that he got my commission done.

Well, my birthday comes and I check up with him to see if he's finished with it, and there's no response. I was going out with my family out of town for my birthday, and I assumed that he'd have it for me when I got back. So I went out and spent the day.

I come back from my day out and check to see if he's finished it. I IM him, and there's no response. Then I assumed that he'd be late with it. He's been late with my commissions a few times before, most of the time it'd be a few days.

Well, a few days later, there's STILL no response from him. That's when I figured out that something was wrong. For the next couple of days, I tried contacting him via IM, e-mail, and contacting his accounts on dA and FA, hoping for a response from him.

And not a word from him.

This has gone on for at least two months now, and I still haven't gotten a response from him. I was initially reluctant to file a report with artists_beware, since he's such a nice guy and all. But I figured that I had no other choice. Even though I'm a little disappointed in him at the moment, I'm posting this not out of spite or anger, but out of worry and concern. Worrying not only about my commission, but also for him, hoping that nothing terrible's happened.

UPDATE: I recently started talking with greycat again. He explained to me that the reason he hasn't contacted me for so long is because his computer had fizzled out and had to be replaced. He's reassured me that he's still working on the commission he owes me.

UPDATE 2: He's finished the commission and given it to me, and I couldn't be any happier. Sure, it took him nearly a year to respond back to me, but everything's good now.

According to his profile page on dA, he's actually online/idling at this very moment. =/

My suggestion would be to try contacting him over there.

I've tried to, many times, actually. However, he doesn't seem to answer messages directed towards him on dA very much, if at all.

I wouldnt trust dA's activity feed as on my end it always errored. I know especially on the part where it says you watched people, which is what the above user is pointing out.

His last comment, according to his dA activity, is 9 weeks ago. Which may also be wrong.

But it seems many people are wondering where he is. I think it's likely something IRL popped up. maybe try emailing the paypal email.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one who's worried about where he is or what's happened to him.

I have e-mailed him since we last spoke, but as of this post he hasn't responded.

As for dA's activity feed on my end, I've always relied on it. I don't know how it's always errored on your end, but I know that greycat's regularly goes on his dA page almost every day.

Weird as it is, mine was telling people I checked it once a week even if I haven't been on in a month XD.

Edit: Forgot Telling in the sentence.

I hadn't gone on in maybe 3 months at one point, but it was telling people I was on daily. it's not exactly reliable. Haha.

I'm not sure why people say that dA's activity feed isn't very trustworthy. I don't experience any problems with it.

Sorry for the bump...
Sorry to bump this up, but has anyone here had any contact with Greycat for the past couple of days?

Re: Sorry for the bump...
I really hate to bring this up again, but Greycat is not responding to my messages or email on an outstanding commission he owes me.

I really don't want to believe that he's ignoring me given that he updates his Tumblr page this past week and even responded to someone on DA 3 days ago, but I believe he's ignoring me.

Howdy!

Commenting on LJ posts does not bump them to the top of the community. If you're having trouble contacting an artist you can submit a Lost Contact post asking community members if they have seen the artist around or if they know a better way to contact them.

Please feel free to send us a private message if you have any questions.
