Tired of excuses. (RESOLVED)

WHO: alphasempaiwolviesyxx

WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/alphasempaiwolviesyxx/

WHAT: Trade- Books for art.

WHEN: July 6th till now.

PROOF: Down below.

EXPLAIN: July 3rd I was in her stream. She had been talking about ( She has been talking about this ever since I heard of her ) that she was poor and struggling and couldn't take commissions bur she could take trades ( for food, movies, games, books, ect. ) so I noted her about trading some books I had and she said okay.

July 3th I had noted her about the books, telling her what books they where and if she wanted to trade.

July 6th She replied saying she didn't care what books they where because she would read anything and that she was interested in trading.
I had replied asking what I could get for trading them and she replied "a partial color themed sketch, or custom designed character? Ir a badge or 2 animated icons."

I told her that sounded fair and wanted a color themed sketch and asked for her Adress and I would send the books in the morning she replied with her address.
( Not posting the screenshot of her address for privacy reasons. )

July 12 I told her I would be sending them today in priority mail instead because of something personal that came up.

I never got a reply.

July 16 I messaged her again asking if she had received them ( because in the stream a day ago she said she didn't recieve them )and she replied that she just got them last night. I messaged back asking if she wanted me to send references for the character and she read it but never responded.

July 18 I asked again if she wanted the references and she said yes. I sent them and never got a response.

July 26 I asked when she would be doing my sketch because I noticed she where doing PWYW streams. ( she was doing them everyday along with freebie raffles between the PWYW commisions. )
She replied that she wasn't going to do any commisions until after the convention that lasted From August 1-6
And that she was doing PWYW streams for money for gas money and said "That being said, I did your rough sketch last night"
I responded saying that I hope I didn't come off as rude and that I hope she was feeling better because I read her journals ( She was posting journals about how she was sick and how she was getting kicked out of her apartment and needed a home and stuff. These journals have since been deleted )

On August 3 I asked if I could change the character for the commissions ( It was a female dragon as well and all they would have had to really do is add a few horns to the rough sketch ) She replied saying "Sure!"

On September 8 I asked how the commission for the books was doing since I noticed she was still doing pwyws and freebies everyday until only doing freebie streams mostly ( I had entered one of her streams to see if she was doing anyones work because she had said pwyw's and freebies between commisions when I noted her) she had said sorry and that "I lose track of who sends me what" and that she would get STARTED soon Also stating she couldn't wait to read the books I sent her. I replied saying they where good books.

September 19 She had said they put their computer in storage and wouldn't be doing any digital commissions.

I had posted this before (without her name) on october 2 People had told me to send her a note saying she either needs to do her part of the deal or send the books back. I sent her a note being not rude but blunt saying I either need a deadline for the art or my books back.
She replied with ANOTHER sob story also stating she couldn't send me the books because she LOST the books I sent her and couldn't give me a deadline. Also stating that paid art comes before trades and that one of her customers had to wait three years for art from her and that her computer is in storage and she was using her friends computer.

Today is November 3rd and I still haven't got this Sketch with color.
I wouldn't be posting this if they wouldn't say they where constantly sick and being kicked out and evicted ect but yet still doing pwyw streams EVERY DAY. She has since deleted most of her sob story journals. ( I have some of them as screen shots ) I'm at the point to where I don't even want the art anymore just my books back or something. I wouldn't recommend commissioning her as she may just throw these sobstories that don't make sense half the time at you when you ask where the art is.

RESOLVED. She finally messaged me, being very polite and stated she couldn't find the original WIP So she would redraw the whole thing and add some things for taking so long. I recieved the drawing a day after that message. Everything is good now.
Artist's beware has moved!
Do NOT repost your old bewares. They are being archived.

Hello, I've approved this post - however could you please put this behind an LJ-Cut? It's quite long, thanks!

You can learn how to apply an LJ-Cut here - http://www.livejournal.com/support/faq/75.html

I also commissioned her a while back, around May I do believe. She was offering one dollar sketches via a journal, but mentioned that she would add color for a tip.

I'm very, very patient when it comes to art, but after nearly six months, I sent her a note the other day.
She mentioned that she had most of those sketches done and would have them uploaded within the next day or two.

She had lost mine apparently, but sure enough she had a WIP sketch of it up during that time frame.

I waited this long mostly because I also read her journals on her personal troubles and I didn't want to add any more stress on her if possible. I think she still has a few outstanding commissions as well, and I didn't want to be another person badgering her if that was the case. (I don't think her art owed journal has been updated in a while. )

I'm currently happy with how my matter turned out, as the WIP sketch I received is well worth the wait and I can't wait to see it finished. However, it was a little irritating seeing a lot of freebies done before paid work, and it was certainly more than one or two.

It looks like she's going through a backlog of things she owes right now if I'm not mistaken, so I hope you can get a resolution soon.

Wow, for a dollar it seems quite easy to get yourself flooded with more work than what you could handle! At least that should be easy to refund for the others. o:

She seems really short, as if she couldn't be bothered. You should just ask for your books back. You've waited a good while, I think there's nothing wrong with you putting your foot down.

Of course, getting people to actually send something back is another story :Y I hope this ends on a good note to where you get what you want. Books or your art.

I said above I did, if you look at the screen shots I asked for either a deadline or my books back and she stated she couldn't give me a deadline and she couldn't give my books back because she has lost them.
All she does is lie and "forget" what her commissioners ordered.

Just thought I'd give an update to my situation up above.

After six and a half months, I finally received my commission in the mail.

However, I have a feeling that I was lied to about the status of my commission on one occasion.
A couple weeks ago, she created a journal with her current queue. I wasn't on it, so I sent her a note asking about it.
She said I wasn't on it because it was done, and that she'd send it out the next morning.

A couple days later, I visit one of her streams and she was working on my commission.
She told me that she had accidentally spilled/set something on the original and she had to make it again. (For, apparently, the third time since she said she lost the first one. )

Here's the sketch of the "second" one:

And the finished piece, which is supposedly a completely new picture:

The ONLY difference I'm seeing is with the length of the beard/fur, and that could easily be erased and changed on the original. Even if it was directly traced, there should be more variation in line thickness and more in the hair/fur area, one would think.

That, and there are very, very little things that I wouldn't think would be a result of direct copying or even tracing, such as the leftover lines from construction sketching. Or, you know, every scale line being in exactly the same place.

But, yeah....I'd say my biggest disappointment was being lied to. I didn't really have a problem otherwise, though the wait was a bit excessive.

Thank you for keeping us posted. I'm glad you finally received your art; I'll go ahead and tag this as resolved!
