WHO: Apes

WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/apes/ (or http://www.furaffinity.net/user/darkapes/ )

WHAT: 2 YCH winner slots, £25 for one, £15 for the other. IMs: https://imageshack.us/a/img62/3532/firstmessage.png https://imageshack.us/a/img841/4363/secondmessage.png
(I offered to buy her a drink at a party we were both attending due to one character being quite complex)
WHEN: On November 14th 2012, Apes put up a NSFW auction with 4 slots available, ending at midnight as shown here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9247824/ https://imageshack.us/a/img46/8852/dateoftheauction.png
I paid on the 19th of November, as shown here: https://imageshack.us/a/img94/7340/moneysent.png
Since then the art has not been completed. On 8th february this journal was created, saying the art would be finished that weekend: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4316691/ or https://imageshack.us/a/img20/2208/journalsayingitwouldbed.png

As seen on the original image, I commented: https://imageshack.us/a/img69/8245/commentaskingwhenitwoul.png

This comment recieved no reply, and since then I've also been blocked on several social networking sites for personal reasons, meaning I cannot get ahold of her. Since then somebody else she owed art has told me that she's no longer doing mature art and that they're getting G-rated art from her instead. I find it ridiculous that I had to find this out from another customer of hers who was also getting impatient with the waiting time and the fact that she was taking on more commissions instead of dealing with her backdated stuff, rather than her noting me and informing me and offering G-rated art rather than the R-rated one, or offering me a refund.

This was done around Feb time.

it was sent to you Via chase after dark, with your Copic piece (send someone to collect at a London meet. its been to the last few meets with me)

as for not being able to contact me, as you've clearly posted above. you know my email address (via paypal)

as you dint email me and 'ignored' the tweets with the finished works I'm just going to put this down to us not talking.

no the final wont be uploaded, I don't do NSFW anymore, the FA Darkapes will remain an account as a few people like what they see there, even if it means possibly nothing new will be added.

(NSFW) http://i.imgur.com/ECP9koQ.jpg (NSFW)

feel free to upload

I was never shown the finished piece, only a sketch that I lost the link to it was so long ago. Either you sent the link after you blocked me, therefore rendering me unable to see it, or you never sent it to me at all. That's the first time I've seen that piece finished, and I've only ever seen a picture of the copic work. I was never told you had it at any meet, otherwise I would've asked for it.

Just future FYI, tweets are not a good way to deliver art (nor is it really professional at all.)

You hold the burden of contacting the people and sending them the art when it's finished via e-mail/note. They shouldn't have to hunt down a tweet/journal/post to find their art.

Tweeting has never been a problem before, the client said them self they revived the copic piece.

They 'lost' the sketch that was sent via note. As we've had a huge falling out months ago tweeting was the best option as we're both very active on twitter, and my other clients have never missed a tweet mentioned @blah Its the same things as email or a text. Just micro blogging. As I've known chase for some time and use the same devices as each other they make an alert noise when a mention is received.

There are two more clients with this picture. Where are there AB posts? This is a personal thing because we do not get on and our fiend circles do not get on. This is not the first time any of them have pulled something like this in recent weeks.

Actually, I said I lost the link to the sketch, as it was sent via Skype and got lost in the history of an old group chat. This post was made because I was never informed it was finished, nor was I shown the artwork by anyone. I haven't received the copic work, I received a picture of it on twitter, not the actual item. I again refer you to my previous comment where I mentioned that you haven't told me that you had the copic work on you at any furmeet, and I shouldn't have to hunt you down to receive something I paid for. This has got nothing to do with our friendship groups, I leave business and my social life separate. This is about me paying for a piece of artwork five months ago that I never received.

Well as this now set as resolved you really don't have to bother with me anymore now. Art is done and there for you and all to see, as for the copics ill send someone to give it to you at confuzzled. The next event i'll be at.

I'll pick it up, I'll be there as well. Saves you having to send someone to hunt either myself or Chase down. If you have a table in the artists' den, I'll swing by at some point.

Sneaky edit: Literally signed up for Livejournal to post this. xD

Was the original artwork something originally agreed upon when you purchased this? Or was that something that was later decided upon?

I may have been too hasty in reporting this as resolved. If you'd prefer me to remove it until you get the copic version in your hands, I'd understand that.

Once you do, please update your post reflecting that you have gotten it, thank you!

Oh no, the copic art is something completely different, why it was mentioned I don't know. This has been pretty much resolved now, thank you so much for your help!

Tweets are absolutely not a valid form of communication with freelance work, it'd be best if you kept it to email or notes - something that can be tracked and re-read without being lost over time. Twitter is not like email or texting, it's not even a form of blogging. It's a public slow-paced chatroom if anything, and again not a good form of professional communication.

Your personal circles have nothing to do with your business practices, as such, the beware is still very legitimate. You did not contact your customer when you should have or delivered the final product. Blocking a customer is not acceptable.

Understand that if this was not valid, it would not have been posted by the mods (Me, specifically.) And as it stands, your business ethics have much to be desired at this point.

I am marking this as resolved, but leaving the beware and name tags.

Chase is blocked on my Facebook and twitter (only for the past month) two months after I sent the first and second piece. As again we don't talk and twitter has been the method used before, I dint see it as a problem.

Fur affinity on all accounts are still open as well as email. Nothing since 3 months ago has been sent then suddenly this. As no attempt has been made in the past 3 months when the piece was sent the weekend of the 8th feb. no attempt till now. Why would someone leave it that long and then post an AB?

It's personal not business.

Fact remains, you did not deliver a final product and you did not make -sure- they received said final product. Our views on where the personal and the business lines meet is very different, we'll have to agree to disagree.

If you could provide proof of when you sent the final product, it would help. I would like to see it personally.

It was 1000's tweets ago. And they don't save after that many.

I agree, agree to disagree. My other two clients seemed happy.

And that there, is the reason why twitter is not a valid form of professional communication.

Twitter doesn't delete old tweets, you can even download your entire stream from Twitter.

and some thieves have never been caught so it's fine by using that logic.

The point remains, tweeting images and using it as communication to your clients is highly unprofessional and a horrid way to remain in contact with any commissioner. It should have been sent out via e-mail or linked into a note, both of which are easily traceable, secure forms of communication. A client should never have to hunt an artist down for their image, as it should be sent via an appropriate method as soon as it is done.

Twitter notifications can be turned off. They can be lost. Last I wiped my tweets I was past 6K. I'm nearing 1K again since Dec. 2. That's 200 tweets/month averaged. Nobody should have to go through that to hunt down something they paid for. Ever. Twitter is not acceptable to communicate business with. Period.

You blocked the commissioner. That was your own fault and never should have been done while they still had outstanding business with you. When the item was confirmed to be 110% delivered, then you could block as you saw fit and not deal with the again if you so wished. The commissioner isn't 'pulling something.' They wanted what they paid for and you hadn't delivered.
