I contacted MsCuddlyBunny on her Fur Affinity account in October of 2011 to commission a two-character picture from her. She accepted and not long after she sent me a link to a partially completed portion of the picture I had requested. The picture she sent me showed the torso and legs of one character, and just a scrap of the other one, though she explained that she had been busy and had not had time to work on the art that much. Some months passed, and I sent her a note on Fur Affinity, asking about the status of my commission. When she did not answer, I succeeded in locating her DeviantArt account and I sent her a note there, again asking after the status of my commission. She answered me back and explained the circumstances behind her absence. In the note, she offered to give me a refund, and I refused, preferring that she should finish my commission instead. This was in February of 2012. I have not heard from her since, and there has been no visible activity on either her FA account or her DeviantArt account since I commissioned her. I have sent her two more notes on DeviantArt, one at the start of May and one at the start of June, and neither have been answered or, so far as I can see, even read.

Man when artists offer refunds I suggest people just take it, this seems to be a trend when it comes to this type of situation.

Good luck!

You're absolutely right. I should have just taken the refund when she offered it. The thing is, every other artist I've commissioned has come through for me, even if they took a while, so I suppose I was too trusting.

:3 Even if they're dependable on giving you the art you should still take the refund (possibly save the cash if it wasn't a discounted or limited commission type) and re-commission them another time when they aren't so full or constrained by real life issues.

My thoughts exactly. I... don't see why it's any of the OP's concern. All she had to do was answer the note and not ignore them.

Some people's bodies aren't made for full time jobs, or their jobs are too hard on them. When I worked for Wal-mart, I would get home and immediately fall asleep, whether I tried to or not. :/ (And then I had to work again at 7AM.)

It sucks, but that's just how it is. In those cases, the artists shouldn't be taking commissions or should refund them (and at least the artist tried - though I would have just completely refunded them anyways).

I agree with this. Not to stand up for the artist, their communication skills are atrocious and there's no excuse for that, but 4- hour work weeks aren't doable for everyone. A lot of people who don't quite qualify for disability struggle with a 40 hour work week to pay bills, and that can really wipe you out.

But like you said, the artist shouldn't be taking commissions (or at least not more than one at a time, and amend their TOS to reflect their situation and how long it'll take) if this is what they're going through.

It's strange that she brings up being behind on bills when all you wanted was an update on the commission. That's more of the sort of excuse you see from an artist who says they're having trouble getting a refund to you, not that they're having problems completing a commission.

In any case, it's still no excuse for her ignoring you for so long. If you haven't already, I'd suggest sending her a note asking for a refund at this point, and hope that gets her attention. Sorry this all happened to you. D:

Yeah, I thought it was strange she would bring up her financial issues when all I was asking for was my art. If she's telling the truth, I feel bad that she's got so much to deal with, but I don't see how it's at all relevant.

I've sent her two notes since this one I linked to, and neither of them have even been read. I will send her one asking for a refund, as I think that's a supremely good idea at this point, but I don't expect any better luck with that, either.

And thanks. This is the first time an artist has simply vanished on me, or that I've had to track them down to a website other than the one I commissioned them on originally, so it has all been a bit odd.

Well hopefully she'll come around soon and be able to at least give you a refund. Good luck to you! I really hope this turns out well for you in the end!

I have commissioned four pieces from her, and I understand where you are coming from. At first, she was very pleasant to commission from since I had received these from her.

The two from FA are the two of three that I had commissioned her after she did the beach one. Since she was so quick in doing those, I would have expected them to be done about the same amount of time she had put into them. I had even seen her stream them upon commissioning her. The third piece was going to be a NSFW featuring the wolf and lioness in the beach scene.

However, she did give me the "life got in the way" speech with her being a shift manager at the Burger King she works for. At that time, I had asked if it was possible to make the last piece more sensual than adult, and she was fine with that. No contact from her since then.

If you're interested, she does have another account from looking at her art style.

And here is a piece I came across from a DA group I watch.

I even sent her a note asking if she was Stenciil but no response. Even contacting her on her FB page has had very little luck...

In any case, I hope this helps in that you're not the only one with this issue.
