Avsun Again

WHO: Avsun Mascots

WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/avsun

WHAT: Bodysuit Commission

WHEN: First contact was in September of 2010 when I approached them for a body suit commission.  The quote for just the body ended up being $319.00.

PROOF: Initial downpayment of $95 was sent in October 2010, and from then on I paid 2 installments on $112, one on Feb. 24, 2011, and another one on May 19, 2011.

EXPLAIN: I had commissioned them for just a bodysuit, which I thought would have been done quickly.  As many people have said before about this company, communication was really fine at first, but then dwindled.  I should have realized something was up (but apparently i'm a bit stupid), when they tried to keep getting communication via telephone calls, but I always insisted on emails, so i never had a phone conversation with them.  Everything was fine, and I sent them a DTD, as well as the fur, since I had already purchased the fur.  There were about 2 extra yards of fur that were sent, because I had purchased enough to make the rest of the suit as well, but I was on a time cramp at the moment and didn't have time to cut off the extra fur, so I just sent all of it to them and asked them to send the extras back to me when the body was finished.
Well, as you know with these people, communication slowly died away.  And I was really starting to get nervous, but then suddenly they told me that they were starting on cutting the fur for the body, so i was happy.  They then were in contact for a while (though their responses did take ages), and they were asking tons of questions about my preferences of spot placement and whatnot, so I became unworried.

Finally, on May 21, 2011 (which is weird now that i'm reading through people's posts on this company, they apparently dissolved on May 1), they sent me tons of pictures of the final body suit all finished and being modeled.  I was all yay!  Within that same email, they told me they were going to ship it the next day and give me a tracking number.

That was the last I've ever heard from them.  I have no tracking number, no body, and no further emails.

What I can understand from other people's posts, is that they decided to disband, don't have the fund the refund anyone, and have basically just disappeared.  What I CAN'T UNDERSTAND, is that they finished the body.  It's done.  WHY didn't they send it? And also that these pictures were sent like 20 days after they allegedly had disbanded.  I'm so confused.

I've opened a paypal dispute for that last payment of $112, since that's the only one that's been made within the last 45 days, so hopefully I'll be able to maaaybe get that money back if I'm lucky, or at least have sent in another paypal complaint about these people.

I would take them to Court, to try to get your money back or the Body suiyt. I wish you good luck on this.

From Esh's facebook wall, it seems that his marriage broke up (Avsun were presumably the husband and wife team). HOWEVER, he is posting work and does seem keen to finish up Avsun's backlog.

Unfortunately, his communication is just as bad as before. People post asking for updates and he doesn't reply. He has made a few minor updates but no list or order of work plan as several people requested.

Esh, if you end up reading this, just tell people what is going on! A public list of all the suits that are paid or part paid, and an estimate of when they will be worked on. That would go an enormous way to restoring peoples confidence in you. It sucks your marriage broke up, but at this stage people are well within their rights to start taking you to court, which will be infinitely more hassle than a quick scan of your list and some guesstimates of work times

They way he handles everything is really ridiculous. He mentioned somewhere that because this "company" dissolved he is no longer obligated to finish the work that hasn't been fully paid for, so those people who sent partial payments have to enter into a new contract with him.

Everything he says is dumb because he is trying to sound way more professional than he EVER was. And it just leads to major confusion and angry, irritated customers.

There's some delightful assclown on there whiteknighting and telling people airing perfectly legitimate grievances to "go die in a fire". Proper professional on the only place he's even posting.

Please refrain from name-calling.

the deleted comment was mine, since I posted it someone has removed that comment so all is well.

Wait, I'm lost. Did you or someone else remove your comment?
Jul. 4th, 2011 12:26 am (UTC)
Sorry. I removed MY comment here, someone else removed the comment on facebook I was initially complaining about. Sorry for the confusion.

Ah sorry, didn't know that, won't do it again. The gist of what I said was "it's unprofessional of him to leave that comment there on the only place he's actually updating", but since it vanished within minutes of my posting that it's a moot point.

That was me he told to go die in a fire!

thanks, I just sent a message to him there as well

The paypal dispute should help, if he can't provide a tracing number after so many days, you WILL get that money back. I think that will be a nice kick in the butt to get the suit shipped, since it is very much done.

I -think- but I may be wrong... If you've not been delivered a product that you've paid for, then you can file for a fraud claim thru paypal regardless of the usual 45 day limit? If that's the case, then you should definitely pursue that.

My bet is that he doesn't have to money to post it, even though it's apparently finished (and you've already paid for the postage I assume).
I can't believe their money handling, you buy the materials, make the thing, pay the postage, and THEN you spend what's left, it's really not that complicated. What a mess.

I'm still wondering how and why the customers of this company haven't taken this to court yet.
Jul. 8th, 2011 06:39 pm (UTC)
If someone is broke taking them to court is not going to help. People also feel bad for the guy since hes had all of those personal problems.
Jul. 8th, 2011 08:40 pm (UTC)
I can understand feeling bad for someone who's in a bad situation.... To an extent. People who have a reputation for taking people's money and not giving them their product don't get too much sympathy from me, especially after the way he's treated some of his customers. :/

And I'm referring to the customers as a WHOLE, not just one person. I mean gathering all of the people who have been burned as a group and taking him to court.

Please do not use the term "jipped" in the community, as it is a derogatory term for a particular minority.
