Out of Curiosity...

Just out of curiosity... and yes, I KNOW what happens when my kind gets curious, thankyouverymuch... what are the applicable laws on theft vs. stalking?

Showing up at someone's house to harass them is not good... but neither is their ripping off my friends for what amounts to nearly grand theft. What's hiring a collection agency cost nowadays? Are there any legal alternatives?

...and for the record, No, I'm not gonna go haunt anyone just yet. There's nothing in it for me.

It's a couple of friends and it's not QUITE tallied up to a thousand... thus I say... "nearly".

...and yes. Lawyers are parasites, feeding on the misery of others. Larvae become adult insects just like many lawyers grow into politicians. It's tragic that lawyers don't starve to death; it's obscene that they (or at least most) live in shameless luxury.

whoa i think that's a really unfair sweeping statement to say about lawyers :/ There are bad apples in every profession but there are also amazing people who are lawyers. It would be like saying every artist is a lazy parasite on the social system, ya know?

You were saying?

Re: You were saying?

Anyway, my 2 cents: the original post you made is pretty vague, and in most cases you will need to consider the viability of small claims courts so as to avoid some additional lawyer fees.

P.S.: My fiance is an attorney, and many people out there know friends or others that are interested in the legal profession and improving it through even becoming judges or politicians to make a positive change in things, so I would suggest minimizing sweeping statements as well, ESPECIALLY if you are looking for help in legal matters. Wrong Said Fred
ok, ok... not ALL Lawyers are evil and nasty and slimy and eat small defenseless children for fun.
If only we could get rid of that pesky 90+% that give all the rest such a bad name. ;)

...and yes, I do generalize too much. >-.-<
...I REALLY gotta be more specific about... ummm... stuff.

Hey, there you are. Been looking for you. I still need a description of your character... Still waiting...

Me? I've been looking for YOU!
...or trying to contact you anyhow; and here I thought you'd forgotten about me and I'd have to report you here or something. ;)

Kidding. You started on something and my address is blocked all over the place because of some spam spoofing, so I figured it was some annoying problem like that. You can get my contact info from my user profile or from http://www.acexcat.com

Thanks for the note and for following up! ^-^

I got an email from you awhile back, answered it, and heard nothing. I saw you posted on the Doemain forum, replied with a PM, heard nothing back. I though you'd lost interest! *chuckle!*

Ok, now that that's overwith, we'll take this into email. @:) Hopefully that'll work!

I'll keep this blunt and to the point.

Showing up to their house will get you arrested.

Taking them to the Justice of the Peace court will not.

Look up "Justice of the Peace" court in your home state, also known as "Small Claims" court and start building your case against this person.

Also, you couldn't pay a lawyer to touch that because it's not worth it to a lawyer. That's why we have small claims court, where you represent yourself with your own evidence and you're own witnesses. It's easier than it seems, and it doesn't cost all that much.

Thanks for the tips; I'll pass those on to my friends.
