Update regarding these posts:

When Star/Astray started compiling her list of refunds and owed art, she contacted me asking if she could exchange the print she owed me ($35 value) and the sketch she had previously done but lost ($23 value) for a badge and a digital sketch, worth $60 in total. I said that was fine. That was the last I heard from her, and then she got banned from FA, so I figured that was the end of that.

Well, I was out of town until yesterday night, and upon checking my e-mail today, I got a very pleasant surprise: she had completed both, and sent me the high res-copies. Both are viewable on her Ink Bunny account, now.

So, this issue has been resolved. I didn't think it would ever happen, but I'm glad it did!

Regardless of her motives for actually doing her backlog, it is fantastic that you got what is owed to you. <3 I hope she keeps this up.

That's fantastic you finally got some art from her, albeit not what you originally ordered. I'm happy to see another Starfinder post tagged 'resolved'.

Glad you got something you're happy with (and that's basically the same monetary value) :}. Though it does bother me that she still doesn't seem to want to give people what they paid for, if/when she decides to do anything at all.

I agree, but I just wanted to see her do the work. If anything, this made her do more work than if she had honored her original agreement - a print is super easy to do, and the previous bust she HAD already drawn, but lost it. So she drew two new things to replace the items. I'm satisfied with that.

Yeah, I admit I was surprised to see that she had decided to do something more than what was originally agreed upon. Lucky you! :}

Digital art costs nothing to ship...probably one reason she offered these 'replacement' items.

Wow, maybe the FA boot was a much needed wakeup call for her O-o
I still don't trust her, but if a) makes good on ALL her owed debts and b) does not start up this pattern again in the next few years... well maybe she'll have finally realized that getting the job done pays better in the long run :P

I have no idea what her motivations are, but she was very nice in the e-mails and apologized a couple of times for the delay.

I would never ever buy from her again, but who knows - maybe she's finally cleaning up her act for good. It would be nice.

I'm thinking maybe if she's posted regularly on the monthly positive post here, that'll be a pretty good sign.

Eh, she's apparently made /some/ commissioners happy all along, so I wouldn't really consider that a great marker. I'm more concerned whether she'll start doing shady business once the heat dies down. But to my knowledge this is the first time she's really satisfied old debts rather than fobbing off something worth half the value/work. So, who knows. We'll see if everyone else gets their issues resolved, and whether complaints start popping up again in another few years :P

Or months even. She seems to only get the drive to do her work when someone is lighting a fire under her butt - and not even then considering she was warned about being booted and still didn't get her work done.
May. 24th, 2011 02:13 am (UTC)
Huh, would you look at that... Glad you got something for your trouble and I'm still sorry you went through all that mess!
May. 24th, 2011 09:09 am (UTC)
Glad you got something, hope she'll keep at it and resolve this bullshit once and for all. Hopefully she understand it's in her own best interest to have good business ethics.

It's not going to be worth anything in the end.

Regardless, she -should- go through the rest of her backlog while she can, but not because it's going to get her back in anyone's good graces.

It won't.

A shame about her, but she's never really going to be welcomed back. Arguably, she never should be.

sometimes people change, even if it seems super unlikely. not in a day, probably, but with time pretty much anyone could be turned around if they WANT to. Holding something against her even if she DOES change kind of isn't fair. ;P
May. 24th, 2011 09:35 pm (UTC)
I'm not saying she can't change (Anyone can), or that holding something against her if she does change is fair (It isn't. For nobody), I'm saying she'll never be forgiven.

May. 24th, 2011 09:44 pm (UTC)
Well, I'm not sure how that's not holding something against someone, but I do agree that she's caused a LOT of grief. She definitely deserves it right now, but one can only hope someday she doesn't deserve it. :>

You misunderstand but I don't believe elaborating will do me any favors.
May. 26th, 2011 04:23 pm (UTC)
Glad at least some one got what they were owed.

She has yet to live up to a single promise on my end.
May. 28th, 2011 03:40 am (UTC)
I think I saw that you commented on her Inkbunny account too? (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) Has she responded to you at all?
May. 28th, 2011 09:47 am (UTC)
Surprisingly enough she actually did, even if it was with more excuses.
May. 28th, 2011 03:17 pm (UTC)
No one's biting on her badge offers so she can't find the money to repay you, so I hope she's making strides to complete your commission instead.
May. 28th, 2011 03:46 pm (UTC)
Funny what karma will get you, huh?
May. 28th, 2011 05:54 pm (UTC)
The only thing that concerns me at this point is Inkbunny's handy paypal donation button. She doesn't even need to ask for donations, just click and go.
May. 28th, 2011 05:56 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I saw that. I don't think she'll be getting as much in the way of donations now either, though. But if someone wants to throw their money away into an unappreciative black holeaether, I suppose that's their business.
Jun. 2nd, 2011 09:23 am (UTC)
yeah she finished a third of my substitute commissions I was surprised but she has now dropped off the planet again.
Jun. 10th, 2011 06:35 am (UTC)
Well, that's no surprise. She's effectively not got anyone holding her accountable again. I got fed yet more BS when I tried to follow up on the stuff she owes me and then she dropped out of communication again.
Jun. 10th, 2011 07:54 am (UTC)
yep she replied and said I was ungrateful and that she was mad at me for posting a comment on her banned fa page and said that she will finish my art sometime in the summer break. like I'm the one who was behind and its all my fault. I mean I felt like I was getting guilt from my Jewish mother. I wish i had known before I had taken a spot for art. there is a wonderful realism artist on FA I would love to commission instead but I have no money for that.
http://www.furaffinity.net/user/venigsun/ who actually does and completes his art.
Jun. 10th, 2011 07:48 pm (UTC)
Yeah that's typical Star MO. Blame the customer because it's always the customers fault that she's so bent on ripping people off.
