I am a bit nervous posting this as I don't want it to turn into a fight, I'm just concerned and think maybe some one out there, maybe the artist herself, will see this and it can resolve the issue before something more happens...

Has any one heard from blaquetygriss in the last month? I see she's updated her journal since July 11th but aside from that?

I commissioned her for a $400 posable plushie. I last heard from her on July 11th after paying the last of what I owed her on the same day. Here's what she had to say on the 11th:

"I have to tie up things on my end (home bound issues) and will get the plush out to you soon as I can. Only thing left to do is the pawpads, whiskers and other details. I'll email you with the tracking number in about a 2 weeks (///EXTREME/// time guestimate because it's practically finished)."

On Tuesday it will have been 4 weeks and I have not heard one peep since July 11th. I emailed her on July 29th and on August 2nd but so far have not been answered. Before July 11th she would respond to my emails in a very timely manner.

I understand things happen but as I said, before the 11th (my last payment) she was very timely in answering my emails and now I haven't heard from her in 4 weeks. It seems very suspicious to me is all, though I know these "home bound issues" may have kept her from email though not from LJ, as it's been updated since then. Can any one help? Any one have some other way of contacting her? Has any one here commissioned her and have similar issues?

No worries about this causing drama. This is what this commuity is for. To protect artists, and also for people to come to discuss the unethical pratices of artists so they don't get ripped off. 400 dollars is a lot of money, I certainly don't blame you for your concern. People were about to tear Maly limb from limb for a 30 dollar hat, so I certainly don't blame you for posting about 400 plushie. I have no info to really help you I just wanted you to know this is the sort of thing the community is for....

$400 for a plushie? I've never seen her plushies, but I've made plushies and dolls myself, and that doesnt even seem in the REALM of reasonably priced.

thats just my oppinion.

the fur she got for mine was supposedly high priced and high quality. and the eyes she showed me were $5 each, if i remember correctly, not including shipping. it has a posable skeleton that she somehow designed to not bend where it shouldn't (only in joints, if you want to bend it else where you have to really really put muscle into it).

i think it was worth it. if i ever get it. but there's the rub.

that's one her cheapest ones, too. however they are lifesize (mine will be about twice the size of a house cat) and very realistic and posable. not your every day plushie.

I looked at her reptile/lizard plushies; they looked pretty cool. I'll check out the others later. :)

I'm sure they're worth it - they're beautiful on the site.

I just hope you do get it. That is indeed the rub.
