Monthly Postive Feedback

Hope you had more treats than tricks over Halloween. I am just emerging from my candy induced coma.

And we have more holidays coming up on the horizon. With all those gift-giving times, it can be hard to find someone that you can trust to deliver.

So here is a good place to help your fellow beings to find wonderful artists and artisans who can deliver the goods. Had a great experience with an artist who gave you the perfect picture? Found someone who has great goods and was wonderful about making sure you were happy with your purchase? Someone who went above and beyond the call to make your purchase the best experience ever?

We want your tales of happy buying here.

To help keep things organized, please follow this simple form:

1. Name of the person you recommend. (Please put this in the subject of your comment, also.)
2. Link to person's website or art page.
3. Approximate time period of when you did business with this person.
4. Details (Here's where you tell us why they are so awesome! What made the transaction go so well? Perhaps link to the art or suit you bought/sold if you feel like sharing. Please mark NSFW if the subject matter is adult!!)

If you have multiple people to recommend, please put them in separate comments to keep things organized.

EDIT: Recommending commissioners is encouraged too. It is always nice to know who is a pleasure to work with.

Oh man, Copper-Hare was a joy to work with. And cheap. x_x That larger than 8.5x11 piece was something like $40 with shipping. It was done in only a week or two too, if I remember correctly. Copper-Hare needs more attention!

Rain Oubliette
Actually, I'd like to compliment a customer, if that's all right.

3. She commissioned me around January, and I finished her commission just in time for Halloween.
4. Some of you may recall that Rain unfortunately commissioned Jesskit for a fursuit partial, and that Jesskit was slandering her and insisting she was a horrible customer, harassed her, was unreasonable, etc. Of course I know nobody here would actually believe Jesskit, but I still wanted to post and say that Rain commissioned me for a replacement partial (without the paper pawpads. XD ) and that she was honestly one of the best, sweetest, and most patient customers I've ever worked with.

She gave me good reference art, clear communication, and prompt payments, and she was extremely understanding when I had a few delays, and was incredibly nice when I managed to screw up the first tail I made for her. I wouldn't have blamed her if, after the mess she went through with Jess, she was upset when I too managed to make some mistakes, but she wasn't upset at all, she was completely polite and kind about the whole thing.

So definitely somebody I'd do business with again!

3. August-ish
4. I bought a tail from Pensive and it's the nicest tail I've ever gotten for the best price ever! It was slightly delayed in shipping, so she drew me an adorable icon as a bonus. I would definitely do business with Pensive again in a heartbeat!

This person has been by far the most easy client to get along with. I might be biased cause I LOVE doing big cats in my artwork and every big cat client I have had has been amazing (or maybe that just says more about cat people?), but bugzi was something else to do business with. He was kind and happy and excited to see the finished work and he was so enthused to see it done (none of that buyers remorse type of vibe here!). He has let me continue to use his character for upcoming tests with enthusiasm and trust and he's someone I would like to continue using for tests just to see his reactions. :)

I hightly Recommend Kiguren: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/2837566/#submissionImg

3: I've gotten a couple of pieces of art from her, this piece was done around September 25th.

4: She's always been honest about her art and nice when changes need to be made. She's in general a nice person with some good art going for her. When I get the money, I'm totally going for her again to get a new icon or maybe even a character sheet ^^

So highly recommended!

Swift (the fox)
1. Swift (the fox) (Just went by Swift but his account says 'the fox'.)
2. Strider and I did a joint commission for him last week.
3. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/swift/ (picture done for him is up in his gallery...beware, very NSFW)
4. Swift knew exactly what he wanted and had lots of details (which Strider, who did the sketching, absolutely loves). He was very prompt in responding to emails hashing out the details, often within minutes of my email. Payment was almost instantaneous once he received the small size of the final version (Strider and I take payment when we're done). He even covered the PayPal fees, though I certainly didn't request it! Very pleasant to work with, well-written communications and description of his request.

Miranda Arqayla

2. Strider and I did a joint commission two weeks ago.
3. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/mirandaarqayla/ (picture done: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4611098 ) NSFW, as is most of their gallery
4. Miranda also knew exactly what they wanted for their commission. Incredibly prompt and well-written replies to my emails (I mention this in my reviews because of how frustrating it can be when the customer doesn't take the time to fix their grammar/spelling...making it difficult at times to even interpret what they want.) And it turns out they were on vacation the entire duration of the commission, yet Miranda even paid immediately via Mobile PayPal. Miranda is very sweet and friendly without coming across as intrusive or stalker-ish (Miranda is actually the same way in person, too). :) Strider and I are quite happy to be doing a second commission for Miranda this weekend.

3. I'm bad with approximations, but about a few weeks ago.
4. I was extremely pleased with how quickly the first one was finished. The second one (which I actually commissioned first) took a little longer, but I was fine to have waited for the results I got. They're simple, but cute, little things and I just love 'em.

3. I was commissioned at Condition:Zero Hour in July and finished mid-september.
4. The product was one of my full badges: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4590039/ there were a couple delays on my part as I was struggling with how to do perspective (this is only the second piece or so that I really played with it) He was very communicative, from the very beginning to the end when he received it and let me know. He was very positive, and even when giving critique he's a joy to work with, very polite and not at all demanding. I love it when customers can give good critique of the initial sketch that's easy to understand and works WITH the artist. Highly recommend.

1. FaeLiss on dA, faefae on FA
2. http://faeliss.deviantart.com/ , http://www.furaffinity.net/user/faefae
3. 5 months ago, for both of them.
4. The first one, Fae took a very simple design that I had adopted from another artist and gave the character...well, character, it was full of personality compared to what I had given them to work with. The design went from something cute that I had bought to a character that I truly adored, and to this day I still use the image as a reference.

The second was a 'custom', if you will. They have their own species and while you are free to make your own you can also have Fae design one for you, which as derpy as I am with drawing I opted to do. I gave a color pallet and left the rest to them and I loved the result so much, I pretty much consider the character to be my sona now.

This is a positive review of an incredibly understanding buyer. If we aren't allowed to recommend buyers, sorry! I just really feel like I need to share this positive experience. :)

1. Arais
2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/arais91/
3. 4 months? (100% my fault!)
4. Aprox 4 months ago Arais came to me looking to commission me for an artwork. He was amazing from the very beginning, and gave me massive amounts of artistic freedom (I LOVE having artistic freedom as my art always turns out better when I do and I has a lot more soul in it)
I did the first idea sketch, which he approved of and complimented, but suggested a small change in the face. He was perfect with the way he suggested the change- Polite enough as to not to offend, but descriptive enough so that I could understand what his idea with complete clarity.
(I often find that suggestions of commissioners can be vague, but Arais's wording was spot-on and there was no room for miss-communication.)

Fast forward a month: I was at the 'final touches' stage, adding in detailed hairs, and detailing some of the final parts of the background.
But the "Rules of the universe" where activated (when I was maybe ONE DAY away from completing the image) and my computer died and I have been unable to do that last bit of work (plus, the work on two other commissions- All of the commissioners have been understanding and supportive.) until my computer has been fixed.

It's been like this for three months, and I've been updating Arais and the others every now and then to make sure they all know that I haven't forgotten them.
Recently, my partner was in a car accident, which financially crippled him, and then we got a massive electricity bill (due to faulty wiring by the electrician) and I still owe $200 on my schooling fees, and only 3 weeks to pay it.
Realizing my financial situation with school fees, (and I would love to be able to help my partner out with the car and electricity) I messaged all of my commissioners to ask permission if I could open up traditional commissions to make some extra money- it wouldn't be right of me to start new ones without permission, when I still owed them the digital art. I offered them all one free artwork for having to wait so long, traditional media or digital.

All of the responses have been positive. But the reply I got from Arais really was the highlight, and made my week so much better. I've been so stressed lately, and on the verge of a break down over money and assignments his message really was sweet. He went beyond understanding and accepting my situation, but has been supportive on a whole new level to me- telling me not to stress and to stay healthy and happy, that its 'not a problem' and he is happy to wait.

I have never experienced such an understanding commissioner, he really is a wonderful person. Any artists should consider themselves lucky. :)

So, Arais, Tami, Cateagle. Thank you all so very much for being so supportive! :)

3. October 2010
4. It was a commission done the same day I ordered, live in front of me on Ustream or one of the similar sites. So extremely fast turnaround! She was super receptive to any suggestions or changes I requested as she drew, extremely easy to work with. The resulting art is really awesome and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone!

1. Merystic
2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/merystic
3. I first contacted her with info on May 30th 2010. The commission was finished by the deadline I requested of July 4th.
4. Best experience I've ever had commissioning another artist, hands down. There was not a single disappointing thing about it. I'm sure this is gonna turn into me gushing, but she deserves the praise. ;)
I wasn't sure at first I'd be able to snag a spot, given that I didn't have the full amount to pay her up front, but she was willing to work out a deposit now/full payment when available deal with me.
I gave her several ideas to work from and told her to pick whatever she was inspired for. She did and she ran with it. I have never been so pleased with any portrayal of my characters.
From the initial sketch, there was only one thing I felt the need to ask her to change and, while it was something minor [leather cuffs instead of metal handcuffs], she changed it without complaint.
She seems like she really cares about getting the character[s] true to the references she's given, but she applies her own style to them so well. Every detail of my characters that I find important was included; even the very minor things.
As said above, she also delivered a digital two character painting with a background on a deadline of about a month. She kept me updated the whole time, sent me a sketch to approve and let me input a couple ideas for the background even after I had seen said sketch.

tl;dr version: Merystic is fast, friendly and extremely talented. One of my biggest inspirations and a great person to boot. :) If you have the money when she's open for commission, jump on it! You won't regret it.
