Monthly Positive Review Post

If you've had a great commission experience, either as an artist or a customer, please comment here and spread the word. It doesn't have to be a full-on story, though you're welcome to type one! All we need are a few lines on why this person was so great to work with. You can also recommend companies, such as printers or fursuit-making teams.

There are plenty of reasons to post someone here: perhaps they went above and beyond the call of duty to fix a problem, or were so prompt with communication and payment it was like having them right next to you, or were very professional and courteous every time you contacted them.

To help keep things organized, please follow this simple form:

1. Name of the person you recommend. (Please put this in the subject of your comment, also.)
2. Link to person's website or art page.
3. Approximate time period of when you did business with this person.
4. Details (Here's where you tell us why they are so awesome! What made the transaction go so well? Perhaps link to the art or suit you bought/sold if you feel like sharing. Please mark NSFW if the subject matter is adult!!)

If you have multiple people to recommend, please put them in separate comments to keep things organized.

4. Details: My girlfriend Zydala and I got an adorable commission from her just the other day! It was done fast, it's super cute - look at this!! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4387421 - , and super cheap (she way undersells herself, this was only $8...!!). She herself is a really nice person too. :) Couldn't recommend more, especially for pinup pictures or for cute girls!

oh, and I forgot to mention, sorry - the link to the art she did for us in the fourth point is a little NSFW, just for a little boobage.

4. Asked them for a really special commission, which she completed very quickly so I'd be able to have it for an event. I'd link the art but I can't really show it till the 14th when I give it to who its for. The art is incredibly adorable, and just perfect for the occasion. I can't say I've ever been happier with a commission. She is just awesome! :)

She's been a recurring customer of mine for the last 2 years or so for various types/styles of commissions.

She's always been very polite and a pleasure to work with, giving me lots of options and artistic freedom with the characters she'd have me draw. She has a creative imagination and her characters are all very unique but she usually offers the artist a choice on which character of hers fits their strengths/they'd be most interested in drawing. A real plus!

3. Maybe a week? No more than two.

4. I got this AMAZINGly awesome bubble bath badge/sticker set http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3884327/
Why am I so happy with the end result? Originally these are drawn and colored in real media, then scanned and cut out to laminate. They also come with a little ducky in the bathtub. At my request, Squeek went above and beyond and altered the line art to include my personal My Little Pony character floating in the tub, too. Then she actually took glowing glitter paint and made parts of the pony and all the bubbles sparkle and glow in the dark! She did this on the RM piece, and two laminated printouts (one is a badge, and the other came with mounting tape to be a sticker!)
Of course I just had to tip her for her troubles :)

1. ContessaSkunk
2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/contessaskunk
3. We've worked together continually for the last four to five months or so.
4. Contessa is a great commissioner. She likes to commission sequences of things, is prompt with payment, and gives lots of reference and explanation of what she wants in her images while still being flexible and working with the artist to generate other possible ideas. She's very clear and very polite and overall great to deal with.

3. We've been working together for the last few months.
4. Buck is a really upstanding, nice guy. He is always polite and pleasant to deal with. He is super prompt with payment and gives tons of artistic freedom. When he doesn't have previous artwork of his characters he provides similar good visual reference of their build and attitude, which not a lot of commissioners have done for me.

1. Obelisk/Ksilebo

3.On and off for the last year and a half to current. (Multiple commissions)

4.Pretty much one of my favorite commissioners. Incredibly easy and fun to work with, with more freedom than I get in any other commission! This guy's got the patience of a saint to boot as well, and is great about articulating what he wants in a commission.
If this guy comes knocking on your commission door, I'd suggest answering! You won't regret it!

3. Within the past week. (Roughly 8/29-8/30 2010)
4. I commissioned them for a piece for myself and my fiancee for our birthdays, and said it could be adult or not, just romantic. He knocked it out of the park, and had it done that day, which for a full-color piece is pretty awesome. I've also gotten a sketch before earlier in the month, it was also well-done.

1. Huskers
2. http://furaffinity.net/user/huskers
3. Roughly 3-4 months ago
4. Huskers was EXTREMELY patient with me while I was working on his very detailed commission. Most of the way through, I lost the original file and had to start from scratch. I informed him that it may be a while longer before he receives his commission. His response: Take your time. Good art takes time and I don't want to rush you.

I was very grateful for this.

3. I commissioned her in late December or early January 2010

4. She's someone I follow on dA who does some fairly nice photomanipulations, mostly of horses. I commissed her to do a picture for a friend of mines horse character. It was crazy insane cheap for the quality of work, like $3, her first time doing a commission. She had it done within about a week flat, followed my brief beautifully and her work was of great quality.
This is the commission:

Highly recommended you contact her if you want a photomanipulation at a great price. It is also worth mentioning that she very careful about respecting the copyrights of the photographers she uses.

3. I finished his commission 2 weeks ago.
4. Tristian is a wonderful commissioner to work with. He gives you clear, easy to follow details, and he is very patient and friendly. He responds promptly, and pays just as fast.

I know he is in the market to get more art done of his characters. He is more than willing to pay for an artist's value, so definitely consider him if he comes to you. :)

Here is the piece I finished for him in his gallery-

1. Nimrais
2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/nimrais
3. Roughly 5 months ago.
4. Aside from Nim being one of the most fantastic artists with a unique style I've ever come across to date, she answered my random inquiry that was sent at the recommendation of one of her former customers not only when she didn't need to but was extremely polite and quick to accept the work I asked of her for much lower than I anticipated. I expected to wait a couple months for it but instead received it within a couple weeks and, of course true to Nimrais' style, it came out wonderful. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3558466

1. Senura
2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/senura
3. Roughly 6 months ago.
4. Senura has a very soft, subtle style; especially with the commissions she was doing at the time she accepted mine. They were quick, $10 color sketches. I asked one of her to have two characters in it and she accepted without problem at all. She was done very quickly and was happy to make the minor adjustment (add the whore-eyeshadow to my character :P) to it that I requested. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3406471/

1. Nyomi
2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/nyomi
3. Roughly 65 months ago.
4. Nymoi's commission was the first I'd ever had done in a 3-D nature. Despite the complexity of my character, she made an adorable keychain for me that for a while held up really well to being a rough-and-tumble keychain. The tail attachment has unfortunately fallen off since, but that's not her fault. It was probably my cat's fault. :P She however did even offer to fix it while we met at AnthroCon. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3420559

All links are pretty much safe for work. :>

QuteWear on Etsy
1. Name of the person you recommend: Qutewear on Etsy, based out of Ontario.

2. Link to person's website or art page: http://www.etsy.com/shop/qutewear

3. Approximate time period of when you did business with this person: December 2009 and February 2010

4. Details (Here's where you tell us why they are so awesome! What made the transaction go so well? Perhaps link to the art or suit you bought/sold if you feel like sharing. Please mark NSFW if the subject matter is adult!!):

I ordered two handmade hats from this seller, a fox aviator and a child's kitty ears hat for my niece (all styles can be made into childrens sizes). She answered my questions promptly about shipping to the US before my order was placed. This was reassuring because I had a horrible experience with another hat maker based in ON.
The pictures she has of her hats do not mean that they are necessarily in stock since they are handmade. It took about 7 days for mine to arrive and 15 for it to get to my niece. Personally, I understood this and didn't have a problem with a handmade item showing up in such a short time.
The hats themselves are warm, well made and get a lot of compliments.
I have not commissioned her for custom work, but that does seem to be available.

4. Very quick work, I got it pretty much the same day! It was just a sketch. Very polite and easy to work with. :) I'd definitely recommend Grind to people looking for art. She's got a really cute style too.

1. Van-Weasel
2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/van-weasel/
3. Multiple Occassions
4. Van's is extremely fast (all commissions were done in a day or two), very pleasant and approachable. She has a very unique, retro toon style with a Van-Goghish coloring style which her work rather one of a kind. Examples would be my current LJ icon and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3948046/. I think she and her style is heavily underappreciated.

1. Sigil
2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/sigil
3. Multiple Occassions.
4. I've commission Sigil online and in real life, she is highly approachable, very friendly, and very quick with her work (it took her around 30 minutes to draw this badge: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4063125). She definately has an eye for detail, has a cute coloring style (I like how she highlights), and shows interest in the characters she draws.

3. November 09-December 09
4. I commissioned Bawk in November for a custom made pin set for my sister and her friend: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3171329/. The pins were proffessionally made. Bawk did an excellent rendition of my sister's late cat. For the word pins, I gave Bawk only quotes, and Bawk chose the totally appropiate background images and typefont. Bawk's prices were very reasonable, and They put obviously effort and thought into their work. Though the package did arrive past the due date (Bawk alerted me it would arrive late), my sister, her friend freaked out upon seeing them.

3. I've forgotten the exact date now, but it was in 2007 for a month or two as she worked on my commission.
4. She was probably the first or second person I ever commissioned for something and, since I'm not a terribly good artist, I only gave her a written description of my character for her to do. She did a beautiful job on it and was very sweet about the inconvenience I'm sure I put her through without a proper image ref. XD Here's the image: http://frisket17.deviantart.com/gallery/#/du14fr I contacted her a little more recently about getting a paperdoll for my boyfriend, but she was closed at that time and wasn't sure when she'd open again so I promised her I'd come back next time. And I will!!

1. Quaylak!
2. http://quaylak.deviantart.com/ and www.furaffinity.net/user/quaylak (she's most active on FA now, it looks like.)
3. I've commissioned her a bunch, starting with a kiriban I won just after finding her gallery and most recently with a digital image of my fursona turned into the cutest Rookie-level Digimon ever.
4. Every time I've worked with her, she's just been the absolute sweetest person ever. I had missed her the first time she opened up for the Digimon commissions and just mentioned off-hand "dang, wish I could've gotten one! Maybe next time" and she offered me a slot before she officially opened for the next batch. http://www.furaffinity.net/full/3072886/ Probably the most adorable version of my 'sona to ever exist!

4. I was taking limited commissions for use in a calender project. Amaterasu came in a little late to get one but wanted a full commission done in the same style anyways. Very fun character and easy to work with. I wish the year had 13 months so I could use it in the calender. :p

1. PaintedDog
2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/painteddog/
3. December 2009
4. I recommended PaintedDog to my mom for Christmas gifts for the family. She was initially very wary about commissioning a furry artist (she's one of those "all furries are pervs" people) but she was thrilled with the amazing level of professionalism and constant contact and updates. PaintedDog even went so far as to make sure the markings on the ornament of our ocicat were right by inquiring further about his markings. The ornaments were spot on of our pets. The family loved the ornaments and we look forward to hanging them on our tree again this year!

Unfortunately, no pictures of them. She commissioned our two dogs (a miniature dachshund and a chihuahua mix) on a bell, our ocicat on a bell, my grandmother's tabby cat on a bell, and my dad's two tortoises in a wreath.

If you need adorable animal ornaments or sculptures or even card holders, PaintedDog is your go-to artist!
