You owe me a new bottle of root beer. Virgil's brand.

The contents of my current bottle are being worn by my mother. Who is displeased. :p

That's the odd thing. I'm not really keen on positive reviews as it's not what I look for here, but I can't swing the banhammer influence. I just can't.

It'd be like banning kittens.

A monthly mod post might be nice- I run a similar thing on one of my comms and I know some pokemon trading comm does too (where we got the idea when I asked my own group about a feedback system). All feedback just goes into one big thread. Maybe you could do that instead? ONE post, link it in the profile, and it's up to artists to reply with "leave my feedback by replying here" and all feedback for that one artist gets a reply to that comment.

I hope that was clear...

I understood what you are saying here. It's something to think about in the future but right now I think we are going to stick to the results of this poll.

I'd say weekly/monthly enteries by the mods....

The posts have to be passed by a mod anyway do they not? I guess they can compile a list over the month and post it in a bulk posty thing o_O

I say have members submit their positive reviews and once a month, you compile them into a big report. I mean, heaven knows how many artists have disappeared off the face of the earth or have horrible work ethic and it's discouraging folks to stop commissioning altogether.

I think it's kind of necessary to have a whitelist to show that there are folks getting their work done on time and stuff e_____e;;;

I keep thinking of Cake Wrecks (blog that posts pictures of terrible cake design/decorating), with its Sunday Sweets feature (where every Sunday there's one post celebrating AMAZING cakes instead). It works pretty well in format. Could work the same for positive reviews here :3

I think it was a good idea originally to encourage positive experiences as well as negative ones in the community content. HOWEVER, that said, the community name (beware!) and the general trend of overwhelming negative content means that you tend to expect posts to be about bad buyers/artists, not good ones. It's probably not great for your reputation to even be tagged in this community since 'you're in artists_beware' is practically synonymous with 'someone had a bad experience with you'.

I opted for the weekly/monthly mod post, though, because I think it's always good to balance out the good with the bad, and to set a benchmark perhaps. A kind of reminder of what a good transaction can and should be like, amongst all the bad ones XD But since the positive posts are much fewer in number, it'd be better to have a dedicated/regular compilation for them, I think.

This is EXACTLY what i wanted to say in my post below, but wasn't sure how to word it. Thanks. :3

I really think there needs to be a separate comm for positive reviews. This is for warnings of bad artists/clients.

I have to agree. This is artist_BEWARE, not artist_well_we_kind_of_like_some_artists.

Maybe changing the community name to that should be poll option 4? XD

I'd say no. And not even because there is already another community for that. The connotations this community has are such that any artist I see featured here, I assume is a "beware" posting. Sure, on reading further I might see that it's actually a compliment, but if I'm just skimming before going somewhere / getting a commission, I might not see the rest of the post. I know a lot of other people are the same way. Allowing compliments here can actually be a DISSERVICE to the artist being complimented, because many people will instantly assume on seeing them featured in a post that something bad happened.
