Greetings everyone.

On March 5th, I received the box containing the Cat In the Hat head from Audriana/Bambiboo3. The box received was very beat up and damaged and stamped as such. I took a few photos, opened it while still on my porch, then inspected the contents.

The head itself was not damaged in shipping, but not in anyway finished or in usable form. I discussed the matter with Audriana, and she agreed to refund the head and said I may keep it. I can repair mascot heads, so fixing the head up, though time consuming, is doable. The face itself is salvageable, but the back of the head needs to be framed out, fur in some spots glued down, reattach the ears, reupholster the back of the head, and shave the muzzle.

A check for the refund was received on March 11th. The matter is pretty much closed at this point.

I had mentioned to Audriana due to the matter being resolved via her being communicative / the refund that I would not be posting any photos.

The first thing I saw aside the ribbon both and unsecured hat was a shaggy muzzle and thin fur on the back of the head. There were two pieces of metal run through the head with the ears (which both fell out), and little to no visibility through the eyes. Foam was exposed by the right side of the mouth, above the nose, and around the eyes when tilted.

I was pretty unhappy, as I had wanted to bring this into work to make a completed character for the kids. I probably won't be able to start overhauling it until maybe September.

When I was told that I can keep it, I tore the mesh and black fur off the head, leaving just the face. I plan on putting some elastic, straps, and foam behind the head for support, among everything else.

A thank you to the mod for the tags. Will remember to do that whenever I post here next.

No problem, we tag the posts for you guys upon accepting.

And the reason why (although resolved), I left a beware tag on this is because twice now for you and roadkillonrt3 that with this particular seller have you both received shoddy and unacceptable workmanship and (if I may be so blurt) piss ass poor packaging (I'm starting to wonder if she intentionally uses badly beaten boxes that'll look even worse upon delivery that people who decide to deal with her ought to be aware of these risks.

But I am glad to see she was prompt in refunding you. That was a bonus!

It's appreciated, thanks.

I don't mind you being blunt. We both had damaged boxes from her. Mine was in even worse condition, and stamped with "ITEM INAPPROPRIATELY PACKAGED" and "WE'RE SORRY THAT YOUR ARTICLE WAS DAMAGED DURING PROCESSING."

At first, I thought she absolutely does not know how to package a box. When opening it, it was packed with newspaper print paper (ink + something delicate is a very bad idea). While talking with her via Gmail's IM client, she stated that she was surprised as she had help packaging it with postal employees. I am not sure about this to be honest. If so, the employees are not very responsible. I am not sure if an alternative packing material was offered or not.

The refund was prompt. Though she was able to give a refund (both the envelope and the check from Iowa), the name on the check was from another individual made out to me for the refund amount.

wait...have you tried to cash the cheque yet?...that part sounds a bit suspect, especially against the rest of the dealings with this seller...

Agreed. I'd hate to see that cheque go NSF on you. :(

Better to leave it unresolved until it clears the bank. :o

I think it came from her financee, who has refunded someone else in the past. I just thought that it was interesting that this was done multiple times.

I think it's from her fiancee, who has refunded someone else in the past. The check was deposited on Saturday, and should clear by either Monday or Tuesday.

I'm glad to hear that she refunded without an issue. I'm sorry it was bad enough she didn't even want you to post pictures--that's a real pity considering it was meant to be worn out in public.

Could you edit the post with a link to the other post about it? It really helps me to keep an idea of the progression of events to have it linked.

Which link? The one from Roadkill or the entries related to my experience?

The photos are kinna sad. She complied, so I mentioned that photos would not be posted.

If an issue comes up (such as a bounced check, as it's still clearing), then I might. Waiting to make this this is 100% closed.

yours--I have a poor memory so it helps if I ever refer back to an entry to check something. I know I can't be the only one! ^_^

Although the other helps too.

You are not the only one. A friend of mine had purchased a head from her (in the photo's it was a really cute Fennec) but when she got it, the box was a disaster and the head was far from new. She too fought with Bambiboo until she finally was able to get a refund. She sent the head back and got the refund. I'm not sure what that gal is playing at but everything I've heard about her so far is worrisome.
