Dealing with Bambiboo3.

Since October 12, 2009, I have been in back and forth discussion with Audriana Gaeta bambiboo3 trying to get a mascot head shipped of the character of the cat from The Cat In the Hat. The original ad for the sale of the head can be viewed here.

In case of deletion, this is a screen captured copy of the ad.


Payment was sent on November 13, 2009 after responding to the ad with discussion of additional costume pieces being sent with the head. What followed was a series of excuses and lack of reason (and grammar) for the package not being sent.

The final aggrivation came in the form of realizing this evening that I had paid for shipping an additional time (the package was claimed by Audriana on December 10, 2009 to have been returned without proof of shipping) on February 12, 2009.

Under the Live Journal cut are all the messages from both my email and my Furaffinity account notes.

If anyone has any additional information regarding dealing with this individual, please contact me at chillymouse@gmail.com, or please leave a reply here.

An update as of today, Thursday, February 25, 2010:
"hey sorry about the lack of communication ill be sending it out tommorwow"

She can not spell, use capital letters, or grammar.

I do childrens appearances on occasion, and this would be a wonderful character to play. I
remember when you made it some time ago. I'm curious why you'd want to sell it? It looks
lovely.

Off hand, do you have the gloves or feet and/or shoes that were used with the character as
well?

As far as why im selling it i just dont think imo that its my best work and im in need of
the money right now more than anything. I origonally made it for one event and wore it for
about 3 hours (it was a hit ^^) and havent had any real opportunites to use it since so i
figured if somone ealse had a use for it then all the more better.
I dont have the shoes and the hands were just simple costume white gloves that i might be
able to find but if not i just picked them up at a local party store. I have the big red tie
though that i could put with it.

To Bambiboo3:
Ah okay. I personally really like it.

The way the character was drawn I could make a 3-fingered glove for it / feet. If you can
find the tie that would be cool. Are you near VA, MD, or NC off hand?

i actually got it back a couple days ago :< seems somthing went wrong with shipping grr . so
i was waiting till fa was back to get your addy again to make sure that it wasnt my fault .
either way the shiping is on me so no worries and im gonna do a complimentary badge for you

The head is being shipped agian tommorow (dang post office) and i will give you the tracking
number. i am so sorry for all this and i am truly embarassed if there is anything i can do
like a pice of art work or a badge please let me know.

No worries. I just wanted to find out if it had been shipped or not. I am going to try to
bring him to the Strawberry Street Festival in May, which helps benefit the William F. Fox
Elementary school.

I haven't heard from you for several days. I figured email might be best rather than Fur
Affinity despite it logging messages.

I had more co-workers asking me about doing appearances at work with the Cat character. I
hadn't heard back from you regarding if you were able to mail the head.

I also feel awkward that every month since contacting you I've had to ask about it being
shipped. Please let me know ASAP. I will honestly need it mailed prior to March 1st if it
hasn't been shipped or will need to request a refund.

I appreciate you getting back to me. I absolutely need this shipped
tomorrow in the same condition as photographed in your ad with
tracking sent 2 day USPS with a tracking # as proof of it being sent.
I will need you to email me the information tomorrow.

In addition, I will need the $27 refunded, as I had already paid you
for shipping back in November, realizing this as of last night. If a
package was returned, it not my responabilty to pay for shipping
twice. I feel that I am being taken advantage of and each month I am
given an excuse or it is "being shipped tomorrow."

I had a very small run in with her a few months ago. Try contacting her through her yim Screen name as well, if you have it.

That was the only way that I got refunded. Bug her everyday/every other day about it.

You paid for shipping twice? Why? Am I missing something there? It sounds like the seller goes from saying he/she will ship free after the post office returned it to asking you to pay for it.

And then there's nothing. That seems pretty shady to me. I understand, stuff comes up, things go wrong. But 4 months' worth? Every month it's something.

The person should be embarrassed, but it sounds intentional to me.

Let us know what comes of it. Not sure what recourse you have though, unless you sent it by Paypal.

Regarding the second time, I've had cases where people have shipped things and told me the shipping amount after, as well as just wanting the thing shipped. While going through all the messages and checking my Pay Pal, that is when I realized I had sent it a second time.

Yeah, the whole thing seems very shady. A friend suggested that I posted the information here to get more insight about this individual.

I'll be more than happy to post an update about the situation when I hear (if I ever hear back from her) about everything.

Unofficial mascots are one of those things that's illegal as heck, but generally nobody cares and you don't get into any trouble. (I still stay far away from them, but I honestly can't think of a case of a fursuit maker getting into trouble over one. I'm sure it's happened, but usually you get away with it.)

since its been over 3 months since you sent the mask payment, you can try getting the last shipping payment you sent her refunded through paypal.. then shell have you and paypal bothering her.. they put a hold on her account when this happened to me

Sadly, I looked into that last night. I used the personal tab / no record of a good for sale transaction #. I am contemplating contacting Pay Pal personally and sending them all the info and explaining what has happened to follow through with the same matter this evening.

=/ It makes me twitch seeing all the excuses why it's not mailed. I totally understand having issues with mailing, but what I don't understand is not-communicating when those issues occur. You shouldn't have to email a person to find it got sent back/delayed/whatever, they should contact you the minute they know something is up!

Agreed! When THEY'RE not the ones taking the initiative to inform the other party, it just makes it that much more suspicious; it's reactionary, instead of proactive behaviour.

Hope she gets in touch with ya, either for a refund or the product. :( I would have honestly jumped on this in the 45 days paypal allows to file a dispute, it's not like it's a product that's incomplete or being made custom for you, so it should have literally been a purchase and mail at least the same week as it was paid for. Sadly, I've never had a need prior to this situation to need a refund via Pay Pal. This has been very educational. She has basically until Monday before I contact Pay Pal. I received a very brief email:

"hey sorry about the lack of communication ill be sending it out tommorwow"

I responded (will update the post in a bit, so feel free to refresh), so she basically has until Sunday to contact me about it or Pay Pal will be contacted on Monday.

I appreciate the concern. I just find this whole thing rather nuts and sad, and I just hope it ends well.

BTW, I have to say that your work is awesome and you are very professional. I'm sorry I didn't get to chat with you more at Midwest Furfest. This is Erika / Chilly.

can i just be prodantic by pointing out that bad grammer and spelling - so long as its not that bad - is somewhat irenivent to this case?

otherwise, yeah, i would be wanting a refund at least on the diference on the fast delivery option myself

I really hope she gets the head to you. I have only seen one case of a fursuit maker having to go to court and all I can say is keep your emails and paypal receipts as documentation. Good luck ^^

im sorry for all of this erika and anyone ealse i have ever screwed over it was really not my intention it was ALL my fault in every case and i take all the blame. im sending you a full refund and you can keep the product as an apology . i just got way over my head in things that i had no control over me being 18 and living with my parents now that im moving out im going to get everything in order with everyone that i owe somthing to. again i am very sorry and cant express to everyone my sincere apologies i hope that i can build a better rep in the future for myself.
