Artist: Matt Herms

He's a Sonic artist, has done work for the comic book industry, and is apparently impossible to get a hold of when he owes you something you paid for.

I bought a sketchbook of his through ebay, paid through paypal. Because it would come with a free sketch the description said it could take up to eight weeks. I waited that time and a little more, had gotten distracted and almost forgot about my order. When it still had not come in I tried contacting him through ebay, gave it a couple more weeks before sending another message.

Now this was my mistake, if there is a problem with an order on ebay it must be reported within 90 days - I unfortunately went over that time. So after unsuccessfully contacting the ebay help center I tried his Deviant Art account and left a message there as well. Through his DA account I got his email address, sent a message there as well. Also found his Twitter and dropped a message there. Dropped additional notes after no contact after a week.

In a little over a month from the first message on ebay, I have dropped him about four ebay messages, two emails, two Twitter messages, and two comments on his DA account. And absolutely no response back from the guy. In fact, on my DA comment I received a comment from another user - telling me they're going through the exact same thing.

I really really did not want to make a post on this guy but I am ticked off at his lack of response. My advice, don't bother giving this guy any business.

that's really strange. Herms was always such a nice guy to me when I talked to him at cons and stuff. I wonder what's up?

I've seen him during a few cons-- he's very nice in person. I'm not sure what's up. I hope you get what you paid for D:

Seems like its sonic deadline time or something according to his twitter posts. Still, he shouldn't be ignoring you.

odd. I'd honeslty be weirded out by the fact that one sketch adds on 8 weeks of time. I can totally understand being busy but...I mean, it's a sketch. Sketches should not take that long even for a slow and incredibly busy artist O_o
