Do not take commissions from a person that goes by the name Vulpes Sapitenia ( spelling on the last name of the char. is horrible sorry!) I have taken a submission from him about 8 to 10 months ago now and still haven't received the payment on it... So I advise any of the people that take commissions, don't take one from him because you will probably never receive the payment!

I've had a number of people do this in the past. I actually now require payment up front within 5 days time otherwise the commission slot gets relisted or passed to the next in line. This way I can keep finishing commissions in a timely manner and commissioners get their artwork faster, so far it's worked well.

More details if you can offer them please. This is all sorts of vague. Like what was the commission suppose to be (bust/full body design/badge), did you already DO the work and show it before getting paid? Any conversation logs? How often has he promised to pay you?

That might be it then. He got a bucket of milk instead of buying the whole cow possibly. If the sketch you presented was un-watermarked and of a decent enough quality he just got a freebie and ran with it.

In the future, I wouldn't even begin an under sketch until I got some sort of payment out of the commissioner. 50% if not the full price. And when showing any work for approval, water mark (LARGE) it and make it a low quality. High enough for the customer to approve it, but not so high as to they can just run off with it.

I second the question of details. Honestly, it's difficult to take any feedback at face value if there are no details, proof or anything. Too many people out there have weird grudges...

Hey Tenshi. Its usually a good idea to require at least partial payment up front bfore any work is done, that way you're not out any money at all if the commissioner bails on you.

I used to have to deal with people like this all of the time.
Now days I will do a composition sketch, eg: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2366116
And ask for the full payment after that (If I trust the person)
Or, if the person has a bad rep I will always ask for payment before I do ANY work on it.

I also found a way to get payment for past commissions that have gone unpaid.
I put in place this system that an unpaid commission will go up in price by 5% every week until the full price is paid starting from such-and-such a date.
It worked.
The past commissioners shat them selfs and instead of risking the added interest rate they paid up what they owed in full within the day! :D
