I have waited, and waited and waited.. and now, after many chances, I am frustrated.

I was sitting next to this person in Artist's Alley at Anthrocon 2008. I noticed he was selling tiny crocheted animals. They were adorable. The smallest kind was being sold for $8.00

He bought a badge from me for $8.00.. and I bought one of the small canine-type animals from him for $8.00. I'm pretty sure I still have the receipt.

I gave him a doodled reference and contact information on a 3x5 notecard. He said he'd start working on it as soon as he got home. I don't have specific times or anything, after this-- because I was busy, myself.

Anthrocon was in late June. I contacted him again in August or September. Again, he asked for the references and my address.

I contacted him in November. He claimed that he had just started college, and left all of his yarn and hooks at home. He said he'd get them when he was at home for Christmas break. He asked for my address again... D:

I contacted him in December. He apologized for taking so long and offered to do an additional critter. I agreed.. He sounded sincere-- uh, yeah.. over the internet. I fail. He asked for my address again, because he'd lost it again.. I gave it.. again.

It's April.. and I haven't even seen him online. He has disappeared, and I haven't sent him his badge yet. :/ I'm not going to make a big fuss over $8.00, I guess..... but.. you know.

This person is really bad at keeping contact with their commissioners, and taking an ungodly amount of time for something they claimed they could finish in 3-4 hours.

Does anyone have any contact information? Anything helpful?

If the issue isn't resolved, I will be attempting to inform Duncan daHusky -- AA director, that this person has an outstanding commission, and that it needs to be taken care of. From what I hear, they are pretty good about enforcing that. :)

Their deviantart is wombatboi.deviantart.com/ -- Magically went inactive after Anthrocon.

He does seem like a very nice person, and I am sure he is-- he just might not be the best person business-wise. D:

Honestly it sounds like he bit off a little more than he could chew, I imagine he's feeling overwhelmed right now as going to college is such a huge change, especially if he's in a school far from home.

Not that it in anyway justifies screwing you. Hopefully this will be a good kick to get his act together, as commissions are a business. I imagine you may not be the only one, if he took many at anthrocon.

I understand that, but I would have been content with monthly contact. I am not an impatient person, in the least.

I didn't get to ask him, but I only saw him in AA for the first day. I don't think he did so well-- so I'm not sure if it's going to be taken out on me or what. :p

Where does he live that he can't get to a Wal-Mart or Zellers to pick up some cheap yarn and a hook? It would run him about ten dollars tops depending on the colors he'd need. :/

Does Wal-mart even sell yarn anymore? The one nearest to me stopped a couple years back and has been going downhill ever since.

My Wal-Mart still sells yarn, but in the knitting community, I have heard a few cries of some of the Wal-Marts losing theirs for whatever reason. :/ *shrugs*

Considering my character is white, and has purple and black markings-- he told me later on that he was just going to color in my markings with a marker.. D:

.. It wouldn't have cost very much at all.

Hell, if he'd gotten the right kind of yarn, he could've given it a kool-aid bath to get the colors it needs. Just snip of however much is needed and dye that.

I was pretty sure I knew who you were talking about because I'd seen him posting in a community I watch, and indeed, when his old LJ was posted, it was. He's switched journals, if that helps any, although he hasn't updated since March 26th. Anywho, it's here:

His new AIM's "Vombatiformes". He's my best friend, I'll definitely mention it to him when I see him online.

Just replying here I guess because I was looking through lj stuff and noticed there was a tag about me. :/

This was resolved a while ago. Is it possible to mark it as such? I'm usually very quick and reliable with commissions (aka I haven't had an experience like this before) and this was kinda a fluke ~crap I didn't realize I was going to be so frantically busy~ sort of situation in which I panicked because it took me to long to settle down and finish it after that lol. D: So it makes me nervous to have this here without it being marked resolved as I don't want that sort of reputation based on one stupid reaction of mine. xD

So. Yeah. Just wondering. :/
