So his death is looking more and more like a hoax.
for people not wanting to go through all the tolling of the journal entry on his FA.
He supposedly died the 19th.

The 24th an entry was posted by a "friend" saying he didn't have internet or computer access but would be back.

Screen cap taken by someone else here: http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/3615/pogoroojournalij9.jpg

So everyone who commissioned him..
looks like he found a way out of refunding you or giving you your art.

*edit his journal was deleted, one of the many saved pages is here.
Artist's beware has moved!
Do NOT repost your old bewares. They are being archived.

faking your own death to avoid paying back your commissioners is just... wow. i can't believe anyone would attempt something as drastic as that just so that they could have a cheap and easy way out of something like that. talk about toying with your friends' emotions, too. yeesh. :/

i really do hope that his customers somehow get their money back from Pogo in the end, or at least PR recieves some form of action against him. this whole thing really is beyond insane.

Anyone who paid by paypal within the time limit to dispute still can.. other than that I'm sure everyone else is screwed.

Looks like a pathetic case of drama... on a level of epic fail that I can't even begin to describe...

Also, just wait till they pop back up somewhere under a new name posting art again. If they crave attention/money that bad they WILL be back.

Someone needs to find out his real name in full so that his reputation is accounted for.

Reading through the comments, it's hilarious how badly the 'hoax' was perpetrated. Most entertaining Fail I've seen all week!

Is it just me, or has the fake death thing become more popular among furs lately?
Jul. 1st, 2008 07:20 am (UTC)
My favorite comment was that they couldn't find an obit, and claimed that those things take time to show up.

Um, no, I majored in journalism. Obits are usually posted THE NEXT DAY, unless information was not readily available at time of press. But, since most news is Interbutts-based these days anyway, there'd be a posting within 24 hours.

Especially if he were killed by a drunk driver. That's top local news - even more so in rural areas like southern Illinois (where he claims to reside).

I spent a good hour this afternoon, trying to find an obit - or any mention of a drunk driving accident on the 19th - and came up with jack shit. Worst of all, I LIKED the guy's art, and I actually felt really sad for him until suspicions were aroused.

Fuck, I hate being emotionally had.

Indeed, no news here in Il. about any drunk driving incident. That stuff usually comes up pretty damn quick. I'm a little more northern, but on the channels here we never get any news related to our own communities- it's always southern Illinois or Chicago. =/

I can't speak for all roo's - though I can certainly say that masterminding schemes such as the aforementioned is certainly not something I would trust in my own hands, and probably that of another roo..

Furry subtypes have their stereotypes. Foxies have their uh, playful outlook. Roo's...well, there's a reason why I'm not majoring in rocket science. :]

*Chuckles* Well, I have little experience with roo's, but the few I know were quite fun to be around?

There's a saying, when even the bottom feeder is getting shit on all they can do is suffocate.

I have never really seen furries as the bottom of the totem pole though. I've always disagreed with the geek hierarchy graph. Personally, I think Lolicon Sickos are BOTTOM. But that's a sub-genre that can exist within any genre of fandom. loli-furries still creep me out, Loli anything actually!

I've been following this for the past 12 hours with great humor and I must say that this is the most amazingly epic fail I've ever seen. This surpasses everything. I've seen and heard it all from broken computers to severe injuries to incredible illness, but this is the first time I've ever encountered someone faking their own death to get out of commission work.
What makes me laugh is that they couldn't have left it well enough alone, but they had to make a couple sock puppets to corraborate the story and be blatantly obvious about it.
Jul. 1st, 2008 09:47 am (UTC)
If he spent the money he got for commissions and couldn't refund his customers, why didn't he just.. I dunno.. Do the commissions?
Jul. 1st, 2008 10:08 am (UTC)
Answer this question and you'll unlock one of the fundamental questions behind this comm's existence.

Wow, epic lameness.

He's not even that good an artist anyway, I wonder how many people he owes money to.
