January Positive Reviews

If you've had a great commission experience, either as an artist or a customer, please comment here and spread the word. It doesn't have to be a full-on story, though you're welcome to type one! All we need are a few lines on why this person was so great to work with. You can also recommend companies, such as printers or fursuit-making teams, as long as it's relevant to artists!

There are plenty of reasons to post someone here: perhaps they went above and beyond the call of duty to fix a problem, or were so prompt with communication and payment it was like having them right next to you, or were very professional and courteous every time you contacted them.

To help keep things organized, please follow this simple form:

1. Name of the person you recommend: (please also put this in the subject of your comment)
2. Link to person's website or art page:
3. Approximate time period of when you did business with this person:
4. Details: (Here's where you tell us why they are so awesome! What made the transaction go so well? Perhaps link to the art or suit you bought/sold if you feel like sharing. Please mark NSFW if the subject matter is adult!!)

If you have multiple people to recommend, please put them in separate comments to keep things organized.

3. Approximate time period of when you did business with this person: Fursuit commissions first opened up for inquiries December 5, 2017. I submitted a bid and was approved, have been working with her ever since, and I just paid the final invoice for the finished suit to be shipped out just now before I wrote this (January 2, 2019.)
4. Details:

Yes, I know this is a long timespan even for a fursuit, but hear me out. First off, it says something that this artist has been working with me on this suit for a whole year and has been nothing but patient, kind, understanding, and accommodating with every single update I received. A good chunk of the delays were my fault! I'm a first-time suit buyer, and I didn't not know anything about anything re: care and maintenance, what kind of materials I wanted, etc. There were a lot of times she asked me whether I wanted this particular part to be made from X or Y, and I was like, "Uhh... good question. What are the pros and cons of each option? o_o;" I honestly feel like she would have had every right to get frustrated with my cluelessness on at least a few occasions, but she never did. She was always patient, always kind, always helpful and happy to provide anything I needed to know to make the best and most informed decision I could.

She is also thorough in a way I've never experienced with a commission before. We're talking the kinds of fine intricate details about my own patterning and markings that made me evaluate my own sona to a level of detail I've never had to before.

One example that sticks in my mind is the white fur along my throat and under my jaw. I know the throat is white; my species is literally called a White-Throated Woodrat. Where does that streak end, though? Most artists give me a sort of small streak along the underside of the jaw, but I've had some that leave that part out (the white just stops at the top of the neck, some that give smaller or larger versions of that streak, and some that even make the entire lower jaw up to the mouth white. I've always let it go, because really, can you just imagine me tying up a persnickety email about how they drew the white encompassing the chin when it's supposed to end just before the jaw bone, please move it exactly one inch back rararar? I'd end up posted here for being that customer. 6_9

This artist cared, though. Not out of obligation or annoyance that the refs weren't consistent or anything like that. When she asked me where exactly the white should end and I had no idea, she didn't just take an average and guess from there, even when she was within her rights to. Above all else, she wanted me to be 100% satisfied with the end result. If I didn't know where I wanted the border drawn, she gave me mockups, let me mess around with redlines in GIMP, see things side by side, and anything I needed to do until I did know where I wanted the border drawn.

Sometimes it took a while! That's a large part of why this overall commission took so long! But she was dedicated to bringing my vision to life, even the fuzzy parts. She wanted this to be perfect. Not just for her, but for me. She wanted me to feel like what I was getting was perfect, and she went above and beyond the call of duty just to bring me to the point where I could.

She's an absolute pleasure to work with, a delightful person and an amazing professional.

And the quality of her work?

Let's just say all that work absolutely paid off.

4. Details: I have worked with Wys quite a bit; both with commissioning art and buying adopts from her and every time the interaction has been amazing. I first commissioned her when she asked for humanoid characters to work on human faces and the results were great, which brought me back and every piece I get from her just gets better and better. The art I've received from her has been amazing, she gets everything done in a timely manner or, if there is cause for a delay, she alerts her commissioners in a timely manner and keeps them updated at every step of the way. I have wanted to recommend her on here for a while but hadn't had a chance to before now. I recommend her to every person I can, whether they want art or not. >.<
