8. In my terms of service, it specifies that we have a warranty on all of our products to fix or adjust them for free.
9. Here, she tells someone I told her that I would not fix her head nor did she trust me to fix it for reasons I’m unaware of. http://i.imgur.com/TeRJall.jpg

EXPLAIN: Instead of asking me or even telling me to fix these things (which it states in my TOS that it is covered by my warranty for construction flaws, It also states that I have the right to refuse service, which I am promptly setting in place after this uproar), She neglected to go a professional route but instead, decided I am not to be trusted so, I’m assuming to this nature, would not allow me to fix these things.

She also claimed that I had tried to scam her out of shipping money. This accusation was on a previous post she deleted before I could screen cap it but here is how it actually happened:

She is now saying that I owe her a free head. It’s ridiculous to say the least and I am not the only one who was held to invisible expectations. I’m posting this so that anyone who deals with her can either know what to expect or decline her commission all together.

Oh wow, I received an email from them not too long ago asking if I would be able to refurbish the head; after seeing all this I am glad that I had to turn them down since I am already pretty busy with projects.

Thank you very much for posting your side of this story, ever since that email I was wondering what was going on but this helps clear things up!

Your post is formatted so there's white boxes around super light grey lettering, anyway you can undo the color formatting so I can read this?

I've seen a pretty large number of these posts come up just like this and it's a coding issue within LJ itself and the "html?style=mine" code that displays the style of the page in that of your own journal, if I remember right. To see the post without the boxes you will need to view the post from A_B's journal page or remove the style code in the url bar.

I don't even understand what she was thinking?

I've known of this person for a long, long time (they watch me and we've chit-chatted briefly a few times) and WOW.

If that head doesn't match her character (at least the last time I saw it) I don't know WHAT would.

The expression is absolutely adorable. The nitpicking is INSANE.

Also, she posted this journal a couple days ago: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5564622/

Maybe a nit-pick, but it kinda bothers me she didn't give credit for making the mask in the one picture she got up of it. Maybe she had more up, but all I can see is that one, and the rest if of the other mask. I mean if there are flaws there are flaws, but credit is still due. If it was the sizing, and the moving jaw not working that was the issue - isn't that also up to the measurements the customer gives?

anyways, avoiding :D

This is really upsetting- the head is absolutely adorable and you followed her instructions to the dot. I also love your WIP shots- everything looks so clean. I'm really sorry this happened to you.
Mar. 10th, 2014 04:31 am (UTC)
Oh yes. she shouted on a page I run stating she "deserves a free head" on top of commented on the submission she posted stated "I will not name drop" but instantly dropped name

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what formatting you mean. It's all in black and white for me.

Is this person really 29 like their profile claims? Their behaviour is more like a teenager. Also that head is adorable, and if it doesn't fit then I'd blame the measurements.
Mar. 10th, 2014 06:29 pm (UTC)
I was wondering that too, they do not speak at all or behave like someone who is a year younger than me.

Wow I seriously had to make an avatar just for my reaction to her youtube video. It's sickening. I'm so glad you had the SS to back yourself up, because 90% of her story is complete fiction.

Her "I heard that xxx is made like xxx" is really killing me. There are multiple accepted ways to do things. Also seconding the idea that she's not wearing it properly. I'm really confused about the mesh being too thick thing. If you can see through it without glasses, you can see through it with glasses? Glasses are clear?

Though my favourite parts have to be:
Complaining that the head doesnt have side or muzzle padding. (nor do my resin heads)
"I like the nose holes, I can breathe really well out of it" (which is quite impressive since she can't wear it)
And where she explains in the unboxing video why the hair is the wrong colour and says its fine because she bought the right colour, but goes on to the review video saying its wrong and she doesnt know why the maker got it so wrong.

And the glasses thing.. Jesus, artists are not mind readers.
Since the journal's been taken down, it's all at http://www.youtube.com/user/kelleytoons/videos
Mar. 10th, 2014 02:27 pm (UTC)
I'm not liking the pattern of "it's great, take your time, the color can be changed, everyone makes mistakes, I love it" turning into "OMG I have so many complaints that I have to make a journal and a YouTube for all the complaints. Why didn't the artist listen?"
Mar. 10th, 2014 03:16 pm (UTC)
She's asking for a free head from you over this?

Yeah that's gonna work REALLY WELL when her current head is still under repair warranty.

Besides, if you DID agree to it, who's to say that the same "issues" aren't going to crop up again? Especially if they're not truly communicating with you (and you seem really willing to communicate) about the issues.
Mar. 10th, 2014 03:38 pm (UTC)
She brought up her problems with the commission to me too and the very first thing I asked was, "Has the maker taken responsibility and offered revisions?"
Kellister replied with, "no she refused to fix it. like 608 dollars for nothing." She went on to say how it took two years to save the money.

I'm glad you've posted your side of it, it's very strange how it seems like K.K. is twisting things around to sound like a victim rather than try to have the head fixed by you. Seems like it would be more productive to take you up on the offer to fix it. About stuff like the "kelly green" hair stripe, was that even specifically requested from the beginning, or did she just assume you'd be psychic and know? :/
Mar. 10th, 2014 11:42 pm (UTC)
What disturbed me the most about this whole incident is how big of a tantrum the commissioner threw. For like three days she kept uploading pictures of the mask and just berated the living daylights out of it, even took a picture of the mask in a trash can then a few hours deleted it.

Their behavior is quite.. childish. I have a hard time believing she is in her late 20's as well.

I'm sorry you had to deal with that kind of outburst and as a maker myself I could understand how it must be hard to deal with especially when they never came forward to address the issues calmly and professionally.
Mar. 13th, 2014 11:05 am (UTC)
Woah, woah... trashcan photos? Do you have any screencaps? I'm interested in seeing this.

Yuck that whole ordeal :c
I thought the suit head came out wonderfully adorable.

I love the part where she says she posted her side of the story on A_B... which never was, instead all we got was a wishy-washy non-apology that did not address any of the points brought up by the Beware, and that she deleted when called on it.

I've been following this for while as it was happening, really glad you posted this.

Some questions that have pop up:

Did she ever tell you she had glasses?

She keeps saying how long it took her to save up, but in her email it says her parents paid for it as a birthday present? There's a lie in here somewhere.
Mar. 12th, 2014 12:33 pm (UTC)
I've been watching as well and her stories keep changing. I think her parents paid for it tho. I keep seeing her say that several times, but who knows. All I know is that I'm glad Keryu posted this. I was getting tired of seeing her post EVERYWHERE. I even saw her talking smack on FB.

Beware well warranted
I had to log in just so I can make a comment.

Good for you Keryu for sticking to your guns and holding your professionalism going above and BEYOND bending over backwards to make accommodations for your customer.

I must also make a public mention while I am a current head-only customer of yours, I have been nothing but overjoyed to work with you as you have been nothing but professional in our business transaction.

As artists we are not mind readers, and reply on clear communication to portray what we want to translate into suit form for the money we spend. You did 110% of what Kellseter asked for. Period. If she had wanted things like thicker ears like another mask you had made, perhaps linking pictures of it in her initial commission request would have solved that one problem. I could go on about the lime/green color hues and the mask being "too tight" but others above me already addressed those concerns. You offered to fix it, she declined. Moving jaw heads require it to be tight in order to work; a moving jaw is what she requested.

Thank you again for showing your side of the story. And beware well warranted. You keep on crafting Keryu :)

Re: Beware well warranted
Thank you so much, it means a lot that I've been able to provide a pleasant experiance and its what I strive for even with the set backs I've had~ and it has been a joy to work with you aswell <3
Mar. 14th, 2014 09:28 pm (UTC)
when the commissioner was giving you the details about the head, did she ever actually specify the color of the green? because the green you used does look similar to the green in the ref image linked in your post, and i'm just not sure how you would've known to use the shade she wanted unless it was specified.

on the same note, i find it extremely unfair that the commissioner used the ears as a point of complaint when she chose to back out of having them adjusted when it was brought up in your correspondence. :/
Mar. 15th, 2014 04:01 am (UTC)
I'm pretty sure like 9-10 months was considered acceptable for fursuit heads if the maker has a queue?
I'm confused by some things they complained about with both suits too? She was upset that her older suit head only had teeth on the bottom I believe, but that's a purely stylistic choice. One of my heads only has teeth at the bottom, and it looks great.
I do see the problem with the ears though, I think they are a bit too close together and too flat. I guess it's something to look out for next time!
I think the fursuit is adorable and it's so sad that it went to someone who doesn't seem to appreciate it. I hope they learn how to love it, because it really is nice.
Sorry that you had to deal with this person.
Mar. 16th, 2014 07:08 pm (UTC)
I'm sorry this happened to you. I think you did a very good job and kept professional when she asked for multiple changes.

It confuses me why she didn't take up your offer on repairs though.
