WHO: Ladygreer, lolshelb, greerwolf, greerarts.

WHERE: http://furaffinity.net/user/ladygreer

WHAT: Direct trace of an image of mine and an attempt to sell it as a YCH auction.

WHEN: Early January 10, 2013

PROOF: Hers [NSFW]: (LINK)

Mine [NSFW]: (LINK)

Overlay [NSFW]: (LINK) [I did no resizing of any sort, her file was the same dimensions/resolution as mine].

EXPLAIN: I found the image she posted early on the front page, said nothing to her and submitted a TT to the admins but she deleted it beforehand because of this comment that was posted: HERE. My gf and sibling had left a couple comments on her page, I do not believe they were harassing comments and would link them but Greer promptly deleted them after being called out. I, myself, did no calling out on the image or on her page since I was pre-blocked from her page after she removed the image.

Don't know if it's any relevant, if not this part can be removed, but afterward that she posted a journal: HERE and called out two other artists for some reason as if to cite this situation was no big deal for tracing which was a major red flag in my head.

I was encouraged to post her here by a few others because of the fact that she already had a history here and also that there could possibly be more in her gallery that is traced from others that she has sold/attempted to sell.

This is a tough one, because the lines actually don't match up very well, but I would certainly think she's looked at yours - if more more so, taken your lines to build her own piece around. The fact that she's saying it's her own work completely is very dishonest, but I'm not sure if anything can be done about it without an exact match - which, I know, does suck.

I think she traced for the most part, over it, and made her own changes afterwards. The rump lines line up fairly accurately, and then you take that and look at the rest of the image from there. The limbs and such line up to the position of the original image.

Because the rump sketch lines up with the original image, It can be fair to assume that she traced directly over the original image.

Now if the lines did line up to the rump, but not generally everywhere else, then it'd be fair to assume they were only referencing.

Agreed - not to mention Ladygreer even left it the same dimensions as the original piece. That especially says tracing to me, not eyeballing/referencing.

Oh no no, I do think you're right, I think they used this image on a layer and then drew over it - my original post did make it seem like I thought it wasn't tracing now I read over it!

Sad that she had to call out others to cover up her tracks :P

Never understood why people can't just own up to their wrong-doings, apologize for them and move on instead of trying to shift the attention or blame onto someone else. Jeez.

Thanks for the warning!

It looks like a lot of the artwork seem trace or at least I recognized the poses before. I am going to look further in the issue, thanks!

Huh. If not for that journal I would be really on the fence about this; the pose may be referenced but there does not appear to be an exact trace (line for line) and there are significant changes to areas. You can't copyright a pose etc etc.

The journal pretty much confirms it though.

If she really didn't think what she was doing was shady, she should have talked about her method then asked how to improve; there are plenty of free pose sites if that's what she struggles with (though it always weirds me out when someone can do linework but not poses, the poses and sketching have always been the fun part for me!)
